This review is from: Lexen Electric Healthy Juicer - Wheatgrass juicer, fruit juicer, vegetable juicer and more!We recently received our juicer and are dissatisfied with our purchase. We felt compelled to write a review as we had also read the reviews here as part of our decision to buy this Lexen juicer. While this juicer is easy to clean, our complaint is the juicer produces a significantly low yield. In all fairness here is a quote from the juicer manual as to the expected procedure for getting the best yeild from the juicer:"Step 5 - Take the pulp from the first pressing and place it back into the juicing Chamber as the first pressing is usually a bit moist until the pressure has been built up in the mechanism. If at any time the grass becomes wrapped around the auger or stuck in the juicing body. Press the off button and then use the reverse button to unclog, then press the on button again to resume juicing."We experienced low yield with not just wheat grass but in juicing carrot, celery and spinach. We've resolved to using our other juicer because the yield is significantly greater. If you intend on returning this juicer, you can find the return policy on the http://www.lexenproducts.com site:"Q. Can I return the juicer if I do not like it? A. You may return the juicer if it has not been used. A 10% restocking fee will apply. Postage will not be refunded. "In other words, after we found that the yield was not worth the money in food product or time in producing the same yield as our other juicer, we are not able to return this product.Caveat Emptor...This review is from: Lexen Electric Healthy Juicer - Wheatgrass juicer, fruit juicer, vegetable juicer and more!I've tried some other juicers like the Juiceman and wasn't very happy with it. I needed to juice wheatgrass but also wanted to juice fruits and veggies but had a limited budget. I hadn't heard of Lexen before and found out it was fairly new - but I went out on a limb and tried it out.Overall - I must say I love it. The cleanup is a breeze and my friend has a Samson so we compared cleanup (had a juicer war!). I definatley won that one. We did a comparison on the yield too and hers won slightly but not much. What I like about this vs my old juiceman (and even from what I read the other juicers of this type in the market) is that it doesnt have a screen inside to clean which is pretty much why I won the cleaning contest ;-)Havn't had a problem yet - and THANKS!!...This review is from: Lexen Electric Healthy Juicer - Wheatgrass juicer, fruit juicer, vegetable juicer and more!Trying to save money and live healthy by juicing, I bought this Lexen Electric Healthy Juicer from the internet. The first one that was shipped to me, had problem starting. After calling the support, I was told to check the fuse. But the fuse was OK. So the support sent me a replacement. The replacement also had problem starting. I figured the contact between the fuse and the contact point inside the juicer, was not good. Hence I jammed a small ball of aluminium foil into the fuse hole to ensure tight fit contact circuit through the fuse. It worked. The juicer can be switched on reliably. I used it to juice wheatgrass and it often got jammed and needed to hit on the reverse button to reverse the augur to unjam the juicer. But after the fourth juicing session, the reverse action of the juicer gave up on me. Now I just print out online coupon whenever I can find it, and go to Jamba Juice store to get my healthy drink....

This review is from: Black & Decker JE2100 10-Ounce Fruit-and-Vegetable Juice ExtractorI could not bring myself to pay the prices for the expensive juicers when it seems that they all work the same way. What I like about this juicer is: 1) it works, 2) it's small, 3) if I break it I will not be out for a hundred or more dollars. Juicing is fast and simple. Another reviewer says you aren't getting all of the juice from the pulp. My observation is that my pulp is very dry: I suggest you feed the pieces as directed. And remove veins from your celery. Another reviewer said that when you lift out the screen assembly, stuff falls out. Actually, the screen collar housing is easy to remove and it brings out the screen at the same time. The collar has a lip that catches everything. The screen is hard to clean, but that's true on every juicer. Get a small nylon brush with soft, long bristles too large to get stuck in the holes, and be patient. I found it takes 5 minutes to clean up the entire unit and put the pieces on the dish rack to dry. Another reviewer said that the pulp exit gets clogged and the motor might slow down. This is also my experience, specifically with carrots. When you notice this happening, turn off, remove the cover, and use a finger to clear the blockage and to scoop any lingering chunks from the screen, then put the cover back on and keep going. This takes 20 seconds, it's not a big deal. I like this unit for quick personal juicing and I will be keeping it. March 2011 update: If you "pulse" the carrots by tapping them down in stages rather than pushing them straight through, very little pulp gets caught in the hood!...This review is from: Black & Decker JE2100 10-Ounce Fruit-and-Vegetable Juice ExtractorI like this product. If you are a serious juicer that needs something that has a wide mouth and extracts 100% of the juice from the pulp then this is not the tool for you. If, on the other hand, you are new to juicing, trying out juice fasting, or just want to have the option for fresh juice in your kitchen then for the price, this is a great little machine....This review is from: Black & Decker JE2100 10-Ounce Fruit-and-Vegetable Juice ExtractorThe juicer I wanted was out of stock , this on was much cheaper so I was skeptical . First off I was suprised to find it to be much more quiet than other juciers I've owned ! Second , I belive I got more juice from my vegetables than I did with my other machines . Finally , this jucier seemed a little easier to clean than the others I've owned . I rate this jucier 5 Stars , I am happy with my purchase ....

Omega O2 1/3-Horsepower Continuous Pulp-Ejection Juicer

This review is from: Omega O2 1/3-Horsepower Continuous Pulp-Ejection JuicerI have searched thru hundreds of reviews on a dozen different juicers, and after purchasing the Omega 02 I felt it deserved a little boost to its overall grade.I have now owned 5 different juicers under the $135 price tag: a department store model; a highly rated 700 watt stainless model available almost everywhere under many names; a OK/nice LeQuip model: the Jack LaLanne model, and now this Omega 02. What a difference it is too.To begin with, it is by far the best packaged item of all five of them (LeQuip was good). It looks clean and has nice body lines, and works smooth. In comparison, the cheapy is what it is...not much. The all stainless model was not all that well made for the price and jumped all over the place...It did have a similar basket similar to the Omega, but it had a plastic mounting ring and a lightweight blade. The LeQuip is similar to this Omega, but more money and a couple little issues that make it number two on my list. And finally, the Jack LaLanne...it worked OK at first, but with a cheap plastic basket/blade assembly and only a 60 day full warranty it is not worth it at any price. The Jack L is so over-hyped that I would recommend most anything over that device! So, what is good about the Omega 02? It is compact and does not use a lot of counter space. But it does everything the 3" mouth model can do (in the form of juicing the way a good one should), except you have to cut apples and beets down into slices. And besides, if you juice a lot of apples it is wise not to eat all of those seeds over time(there is much mention of accumulating poison from some seeds)...and lets face it, if you have a big mouth juicer you are going to get lazy and just drop them in seeds and all. Also, other larger fruits that might have a large seed are going to wind up getting chopped and not juiced whole anyway...so cutting is not a really big deal. What else? It cleans up a LOT easier than the Jack L...largely due to the way the pulp is thrown out of the back and most of it goes straight into the catcher, the way it is supposed to do. **A note for any juicer, put a plastic bag in the catcher and tie it up over the top to make clean up easier and you can save the pulp for compost or meatloaf, etc.** Anyway, some of the tops on other machines get jammed with pulp or have corners that make them hard to clean out. If you can visually see the design of a cover you can more easily determine if it is a smooth arc or a sharply angled model...the smoother the better. How about power? This version of an Omega has a 1/3 hp, 6300 rpm motor. The Jack L and other cheapies have smaller 1/4 or less motors and some still crank the rpm's to compensate (not good). There is much discussion about rpm's and that lower is better (for reducing oxidation)...but, you cannot find a centrifugal pulp ejector model that is slow enough to compete with the masticator/auger types with reducing the oxidation. So, you need to choose one that can at least separate the juice from the pulp but not be too weak to break. This is why I chose the Omega 02...it is not the full 11,000 rpm 1/3 or 1/2 hp model but it is powerful enough to do the job and strong enough to last as well. Also, don't get caught up in wattage comparisons...watts do not translate directly into horsepower. To grind up tough fruit and veggies, you need horsepower. If I had to choose another model to replace this one (in the same price range) I would definitely choose this Omega 02 again. With that said, there are a couple small items to address. First of all, get the black version instead of the white. Or plan to buy the black plastic bowl ring later. This piece of plastic will get stained in short order from carrots and other similar veggies. But it is just a little stain ring around the inside where the basket rides, not bad like other brands. The black plastic will not show this and stay newer looking, longer. But, I will say that even stainless appliances will show wear over time, so use it and enjoy it anyway. Secondly, there is occasional juice that seeps out around the bottom lip of the bowl ring (mentioned above) and the stainless bowl, BUT I have come up with a quick fix: put a small amount of vaseline around the rim of the stainless bowl and then place the white (or black) plastic ring on top before setting the basket and blade into place. Juice will not seep out, and it will not come in contact with your juice either. It does not affect cleanup! When it is time to break the unit down, it merely washes off in hot water. FYI, the LeQuips have the plastic ring formed onto the stainless bowl...stops the seepage, but is a real pain to clean since it does not come off of the bowl.OK, hopefully that is enough to make it worth your time reading this whole thing and help in decision making. I would recommend the Omega 02 to anyone...I got it for $90 shipped and I would only consider a couple of other models over this one (maybe) but they will cost 2 to 21/2 times this price (Omega Big Mouth or 4000). And the only reason for considering them is a longer warranty (10 or 15 instead of 3) and larger machines for a little more processing power (but I didn't need more)....This review is from: Omega O2 1/3-Horsepower Continuous Pulp-Ejection Juiceri too bought this on the lightning deal, and yes the chute is small, and if your not quick w the pusher, you will have juice and even whole pieces of fruit fly out. what i like about it is it cleans up fast, and the juice is good. other juicers i have used were way more expensive and took way to long to clean,if you read the directions, it clearly states fruit and veggies must be cut(you do not have to peel citrus as one person said) to size, this is a personal juicer, not really good for serving 2 or more people, i have used it every day, i drink the juice, then clean all parts, and ...

This review is from: Cookinex 2 Cup Juice Extractorwhen i saw this juseir for 29$ in Amason i was surprized probably no gonna be a good, but i am looking for somthing basic for one-2 cup of juse when i am at work at lunch time it is good to have a cup of apple juce after food. works just fine now. i do grapefruet, lemon, apple, carrots, orange. i am happy with this Hercules. recoment if you looking for small and inexpencieve for basic users. best for 1 person. thank you. Amazon....This review is from: Cookinex 2 Cup Juice ExtractorI purchased this because I decided to try juicing and did not want to spend a lot. It is very easy to clean which is a concern I read in other product's reviews. It does get less juice from fruit than I expected, but for the price, it was worth it....This review is from: Cookinex 2 Cup Juice Extractorthis juicer is a peice of cr*p. first the sides are too hard to hook unto the juicer and the mouth is very tiny. there was alot of pulp left in my pulp cup part. after 1 day it stopped working and left me disappointed like low fat yogurt. not to mention clean up is a mess and a task to do. trust me people DON'T buy this unless you want to return it like i am going to do right now after 1 day of using it. i thought it was cheap and good but it is cr*p and O wait for it wait for it... it was the wrong juicer the company sent me it wasn't nothing like this but it was similar with sides and front but the button on front was different. For ht love of god dont buy it...

Cleaning Made Simple - Dishwasher-safe, removable parts disassemble easily for cleaning

This review is from: OMEGA 8003 WHEAT GRASS MULTIPURPOSE ELECTRIC JUICER/FOOD PROCESSOR/PASTA EXTRUDERI purchased this juicer at least partially out of curiosity. I've had a Champion 25+ years, an Acme for 20, and Breville, L'Equip and Omega centrifugal juicers. The problem with these centrifugals is that they are awful for leafy greens. The Champion will do leafy greens okay, but I was interested in higher yield. Plus, I do enjoy a shot of wheatgrass and the Champion won't do it at all. I looked at both twin-gear and single-auger types. Twin-gear juicers are still being developed, so I ended up single-auger. After watching the TriBest infomercial demonstrated by some babe who acted like she was on cocaine, I went to Omega. My Omega centrifugal works flawlessly. I purchased the 8003 over the 8005 or 8006 because I like white appliances. The 8003 is heavier than it appears in photos. However, it is quite compact, smaller than my Champion. Assembly is quite simple; the auger housing, auger, screen and end cone fit logically and the locking wheels are able to be operated with wet hands. As stated by another reviewer, the feed tube is not large; if one wants to drop whole pieces of fruit in this isn't the juicer for you. This is by far the quietest juicer I've owned. No, where this juicer excels is with leafy greens. It will happily chomp its way through any green one wants. Unlike the Champion, stringy greens such as celery won't accidentally get wound around the auger. The trick with this juicer is to let the slow-turning auger feed at its own speed, helped with the pusher. BTW if anyone wants to see this juicer in action, go to YouTube and there are several excellent demos. I can run several carrots at a time through the big-mouth Breville; not on this juicer. However, of course, the Breville won't do leafy greens as this one does! The downside to a white juicer is that carrots and beets can stain. Doesn't bother me, but if that could be a problem, buy the chrome finish one with black peripherals. I know there has been a model 8006 introduced recently with an auger that's supposed to be several times harder than the melamine one used here. For ~$125 more, I don't see the benefit. I expect the price on the 8006 will drop when the novelty wears off. If one wants to juice carrots, apples, and other firm fruit, a centrifugal will probably be the juicer of choice. I still use mine for these. However, if one wants to increase leafy greens in one's diet, one of these will definitely fill the bill....This review is from: OMEGA 8003 WHEAT GRASS MULTIPURPOSE ELECTRIC JUICER/FOOD PROCESSOR/PASTA EXTRUDERI LOVE, LOVE this juicer!! I had read a lot of reviews from different sites (positive and very negative ones!). I don't understand those that complain about how slow and "messy" the juicer is...messy?! are u kidding me? this juicer is not messy at all, the clean up is easy; just rinse under the tap and leave out to dry. I didn't even have to use the little brush to scrub the parts. As for speed...Juicing isn't fast food!! Don't be put off by people saying that the juicer is slow; I previously had a centrifugal type juicer (and those things are fast!), although the Omega is slower, once you start juicing you'll have a glass of juice in less than five minutes. For those complaining that they have to chop up the vegs into small pieces, give me break and don't be lazy! if you actually bother to chop your veg/fruit into appropriate sizes, all you do is drop it in and the juicer takes care of the rest all on it's own, you don't even have to bother to push it in with that plunger thing. Some have mentioned that it doesn't juice carots too well; this one was a big concern of mine, but I found no problem with juicing carrots, it juices them just fine for my taste. I found myself using a little less of what I usually use to make juice, so this juicer makes plenty of juice! I haven't used the other features yet (I bought this mainly for juicing), but I'm sure I will be impressed. Buy this juicer, you won't be disappointed and your mind and body will thank you.Peace...

Omega 9000 Juicer

Superior Performance - Powerful 400-watt motor quickly turns your favorite fruits and vegetables in

Ultimate Convenience - The one-handed operation and food tray make it easy to create fresh, nutriti

Cleaning Made Simple - Dishwasher-safe, removable parts disassemble easily for cleaning

This review is from: Omega 9000 JuicerThe Omega 9000 juicer is a good juicer.I've had an Acme 6001 for years and it has served me well. When it was time for a new juicer, I bought the Breville since it was such a "hot item".Big mistake! Unless you want it to "keep up with the Joneses" and think having a big shiny juicer in your kitchen is more about prestige and less about health, then the Breville is for you.Back to the Omega. The Omega 9000 makes pulp feel like a shirt. It's pretty dry.Big up to Amazon & HealthNut for it's speedy pick up of the Breville and quick delivery of the Omega (2 days), which is actually well-designed and has good yield. Now for the cons: carrot residue sticks to the bottom and along the periphery of the basket which goes inside the bowl. It took me a long time to scrub off. Maybe a filter will help, but I never had that problem with the Acme and it was built many moons ago in the 90's. If it wasn't for that design flaw, I'd give it another star. One last thing. Make sure you process the fruit & vegetables in the right order. For some reason, if you put, say, cucumber and parsley first, before the carrot, the juicer will flip out and do a dance on the counter. I experienced this w/ the Acme as well. So go slow at first & read the tips about what to process first & how.Cheers....This review is from: Omega 9000 JuicerI'm amazed that there aren't hundreds of five-star reviews for this item. I shopped for a juicer for MONTHS, literally. After painstaking research - including reading dozens of reviews like this one, and looking at Consumer Reports - I finally decided on the Omega 9000. I wanted the model in black, but shopped at several different websites and couldn't find a black one. So I settled for the white model. That's the only negative comment I can make about the entire transaction. Not only is the juicer easy to use and compact (despite what another Amazon reviewer says, it's much smaller than comparable machines), it's also backed with a 15-year warranty and excellent service. I had a question in my first week of using the Omega and called the number on the instruction booklet: no recorded message, just a friendly, helpful person. As far as the actual operation/performance of the machine, I couldn't be happier. All stainless steel, it's beautiful and sturdy, and built to last that way. A centrifugal machine, it definitely gets all the juice out of the fruits and vegetables. And with the filters (a great value) clean-up takes less than five minutes. Stop looking. This is the one you want. You'll enjoy fresh juice for (at least) the next fifteen years......This review is from: Omega 9000 JuicerI bought this juicer and the first few times I made juice it worked ok, but after a few days it stopped working. There's a reset button on the bottom and to get it back to working again you have to press the reset button every few seconds. So it juices for 3-5 seconds and then stops, then you have to press the reset button and then you can juice again for another 3-5 seconds. And halfway through my glass it stopped working completely. This has been very frustrating to use. And it takes a very long time to clean out all the pulp, too. I wouldn't recommend this juicer. I am calling Omega directly tomorrow to find out if they can either replace it or tell me what's wrong with it....

This review is from: Mehu-Liisa 10 Liter Stainless Steel Steam Juicer - Made in FinlandThe Mehu-Liisa is an amazing piece of equipment. It is well-made, strong, durable, and even aesthetically pleasing. It works very well, right out of the package. In fact, as far as I could tell, it has the highest quality of stainless steel available for a steam juicer at 18/10.However, I think it has two design issues that I personally didn't care for. Some people might not bother with these issues, some might think they are non-issues, and yet some might even see them as an advantages - I just didn't care for them.First, it's middle section pot (which holds the pasteurized juice) has to fit exactly in the bottom section pot (which holds the water). This is because the spout that pours out the juice (on the middle section pot) is exactly at the bottom side and it hits the top edge of the bottom section pot.In turn, the two pieces fit together like a puzzle. On the outset, that is good - there are advantages to that; however, my problem is that this enables pulp to mix with your pasteurized juice. Because the spout is right at the bottom, all the pulp that settles on the bottom drains with the juice (some people might like this, but I don't). I'd rather have the spout be slightly higher on the pot, so that the sediment and pulp will nestle below it and not mix with my juice.Second, the other design issue I don't care for is the size of the water pot on the bottom section. It is too small for my likes. Now don't get me wrong, the Mehu-Liisa did this on purpose because they made up for the smallness of the bottom section pot to increase the size of the juice basket; and it is huge - so in turn you have less space to boil water, and more space for fruit. Again, there are trade-offs. I'd prefer having a larger pot to boil water in, and a smaller basket for the fruit. This is because I think it is easier to change out the fruit (since it is on top) than to change out the water (since it is on bottom). With a larger pot of water, I change it out less often.Regardless which model of juice steamer you pick, the Mehu-Lissa is top of the line for quality and will probably last the longest - however, these two design issues I just described - you should at least be aware of, and decide for yourself if they are deal-breakers or not....This review is from: Mehu-Liisa 10 Liter Stainless Steel Steam Juicer - Made in FinlandThis baby gave me the best boysenberry syrup on earth. Try apple juice from Granny Smiths to make apple jelly. Everything I've made from it is amazing. Very simple to use....

This review is from: Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juice ProcessorDual disc juicer when compared to 800JEXL is superior in features in many ways. Just to list a few1) Motor is 1200 watts against 1000 watts in 800JEXL2) Rotary speed dial with speeds 1 to 5- Higher for harder fruits & vegetables compared to flip switch achieving two speeds in 800JEXL3) Ability to make soft fruit smoothies in dual disc in addition to juicing anything4) 3.5" dia feeder compared to 3" in 800JEXL.I use it daily for vegetable juice on week days and fruit smoothies on weekends.I use those vegetables in juicing which otherwise I generally donot eat.For exampleOne large tomato, two stems of celery, one large carrot, half lime or lemon and a small piece of gingerWith lime, I donot need to add salt. With this pure juice, I have stopped taking V8 juice. For week end, I use smoothies made from banana & seasonal fruits like berries and non fat milk and if needed, I add mango pulp.Very fast in juicing and very easy to clean even during week day before work....This review is from: Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juice ProcessorCustomer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

In today's world, the term "commercial grade" is tossed around very casually. Often it's just a marketing tool to make you think an item is built to a higher standard than it acutally is. However, in this case, even though Breville does not use the words, I could think of no better term to describe this beast. You know you have a real product here when you take it out of the box. It's HEAVY. Not ridiculously heavy, not too heavy to move, just sturdy and well made. When you turn it on, you can hear and almost feel the power this device is going to bring to the task at hand. The juice this makes is great, you can control the pulp that you get, or don't get. We have owned cheaper juicers in the past, but honestly that is like comparing apple juice and orange juice (pun intended) there is simply no comparison. You will not regret for one moment making this purchase! I recommend this juicer without hesitation or reservation....This review is from: Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juice ProcessorCustomer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

Let me start off saying that prior to selecting this appliance from the Amazon Vine program, I have been a big fan of juice drinks and smoothies but totally inexperienced in making them from scratch. However, shortly after using this well-designed, easy to use, high quality product from Breville, I enjoy the smoothies this product enables me to make at least as much as those I pay too much for at places like Jamba Juice. The Breville BJE820Xl Dual Disc Juice Processor, while pricey, makes the expression "you get what you pay for" more true than ever. Why is this so? One key reason is that its puree disc and insert, which purees fruits such as mangoes, oranges and bananas, and retains the fiber rich fiber pulp for thick, all-fruit smoothies. (Further, while I haven't used this disc for making the following, it also is supposed to be great for making healthy dips, sauces, soups and sorbets). A second reason is the juice disc, which extracts only the juice from fruits and vegetables that enables an 8oz glass to be ready in just about five seconds. A third reason is its 3" wide chute that allows you to process whole fruits and vegetables without pre-cutting. Reason four is that it comes with an extra large 1.2 liter jug with froth separator; and reason five is its excellent engineering that enables the processor to operate in a very quiet manner due to its high torque, 1200 watt motor. And if the above reasons aren't enough, this appliance's heavy grade die-cast metal body gives it a very professional appearance....

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 67801 Health Smart Juice Extractor, BlackThis is more for the person who is a casual "juicer". It works well for what it is. A few things I would change: The hopper is too small, you have to cut your produce to size to fit in the shoot. The side flaps are flimsy and seem like they could break easily, so be gentle with them. Cleaning up the juicer is a messy pain. Having said that, great deal for the price and I would recommend it as a BUY for the casual juicer....This review is from: Hamilton Beach 67801 Health Smart Juice Extractor, BlackFor the money ($25), this was a good value. The hopper is too small. You must slice everything down to a small size. Overall, I am happy....

This review is from: Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press, BlackI've owned this juicer for over 5 years and it works like a charm for extracting juice from large quantities of limes, lemons or oranges. It is heavy and solidly built, and the lever action runs right through the center of the juicer so no problems with tipping. Not much effort required to get the handle all the way down, which extracts all the juice. If you want to get every last drop, rotate the fruit 1/4 turn and press again, but you get about 95% on the first squeeze. The only down side is the that it is large, heavy and bulky. It would be best if you have the counter space to leave it out all the time. I don't, so it probably gets less use than it otherwise would as I have to haul it out of the cupboard every time. It might work well in an appliance garage too....This review is from: Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press, BlackCouldn't be happier with this juicer, which we've owned for 3 years. Still going strong. As other reviewers have suggested, it's still quite large (and powerful) even though termed "mid-sized". It's nice to find such a sturdy, well-built, smartly engineered tool in today's sea of easily broken, poorly designed, cheap home equipment. Truly commercial grade....

This review is from: Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice ExtractorGot this juicer early this mo. after hearing that it was given a very good review by Consumer Reports. I've used it 4-5 times and am quite happy with it. It's easy to assemble, operate, clean and the price was much more reasonable than other juicers I looked at. It makes great juice and my family is hooked. We have experimented with different fruits and veggies to see what produces the best juce and what produces little juice. My favorite features are the extra wide mouth opening to insert your fruits and veggies,(they dont have to be cut into small pieces) and the ease of cleaning. I am saving money no longer buying the famous brand fruit with veggie juice now on the mkt, we are making our own and it tastes much fresher. There was a simple recipe guide included which appears to have some good recipes, but we have just had fun trying things on our own. I would highly recommend this juicer to other families....This review is from: Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice ExtractorSo I bought this juicer from walmart back in June 2007 for only $45. I used it daily since. Love this juicer. I got it for my own health, but ended up getting my kid hooked as well :)Well, today it stopped working. The motor broke, and the rubber started smoking right in the middle of carrot/lettuce/beet juice :(I was disappointed to see the price go up so much, because I really wanted the same one. But 3 years of daily use, I'd say thats pretty good for an inexpensive juicer. Would recommend this to anyone....This review is from: Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice ExtractorI love this juicer because it isn't too loud and you can juice alot of fruits and vegetables. And the price ws much cheaper than it is in the stores. I have no complaints and I use this product on a daily basis....

This review is from: Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro JuicerYou'd think it would be hard to mess up when designing an item that just juices halved citrus fruit, but they did. And how! There are three annoying features about this machine that interact to provide a supremely annoying user experience. The first annoying feature about this juicer is that the pour spout juts out a mere 1/4 inch from the side of the machine. Since the machine is rounded and somewhat urn-shaped (fatter on top than on the bottom), you have very little space to get a glass or measuring cup near the body of the machine in order to catch the juice. Keep in mind that some measuring glasses can be rather thick, and you can easily see that this might be a bit of a problem. Now for the other two problems. I should note that this machine has a decent amount of torque, and can indeed ream out a citrus fruit rather efficiently, leaving nothing but rind. The problem is the three little rubber feet on the bottom cannot stand up to the machine's torque. Push a fruit down on the top and the entire machine jerks to the side, whereupon the spout flinches away from its tiny area of proper juice-dispensing, and juice meets counter. You have to exert a considerable amount of force when pushing down the fruit just to get the thing to stay put. I had to use both hands to do this (one holding the lemon down, one pushing against the side of the machine, leaving none for the measuring cup). It's not an insignificant amount of force; you really have to brace your arms on the thing to keep it still. Thus comes the third problem, which is the auto-reverse mechanism. About the second or third time you push down on the fruit and activate the machine, it goes the other way (clockwise instead of counterclockwise) in order to get more pulp and juice out of the fruit. However, I haven't figured out how to tell which direction it's going to go next (it's not a simple first time this way, next time that way), so when it decides to change, the machine jerks in the opposite direction of where you were expecting it to go. This operates in opposition to the force you are exerting on the side of the machine trying to keep it from moving. Again, hilarity ensues. So, all in all, I am NOT impressed with this juicer. Unfortunately, it was the only one at the store. Perhaps another company will see the opportunity here and dare to make a juicer that does not have such an impressively compounded collection of design flaws....This review is from: Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro JuicerLength:: 0:46 Mins1. The juicer doesn't stay in place. This often results in getting juice everywhere but the small container you need to use to hold the juice.2. Motor is too weak. This will result in having to wait in between fruit to finish juicing.3. Cup is too small and gets clogged after squeezing two oranges or one grapefruit. This result in having to rinse the top several times before continue juicing.4. Pass through is too small and gets clogged easily. Juice either doesn't go through or stay in queue, overflowing the container you're using.5. The top (where the citrus goes) isn't pointy enough, therefore it doesn't pierce the fruit you're juicing. This will result in a lot of waste because not all the pulp gets squeezed out.6. You'll need to strain the juice or eat it with a spoon. Because of all the overflowing, you'll get a lot of pulp inside the juice. I mean a lot.7. This product is so bad that even their marketing can't make up for it. You need to rinse before putting in the dishwasher to remove all the pulp and seeds (otherwise you'll majorly clogged your dishwasher and you don't want that to happen). Cuisinart only selling point is "dishwasher safe". After you rinse the pulp and seeds out, it's clean. Why put in the dishwasher? Why advertising it's dishwasher safe? What you do need to do is clean (and is not dishwasher safe) are your counters and the body of the juicer. Juice will run on the sides and get into the motor part and make a mess out of it. Cuisinart forgot to mention that in the box. It's too much of a mess to make this juicer worth purchasing. I honestly don't understand this getting bad reviews. I dislike this piece so much I've gone as far as making my first (and probably last) product review video....This review is from: Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro JuicerI used a friend's citrus juicer, and that got me excited enough to go out and buy one of my own. The store didn't have the model I was looking for, so I ended up with this one, because I didn't do enough research. It's "okay" at extracting juice from citrus fruits, but after about two oranges it clogs up, and it's necessary to clean out the pulp catcher. If you want to make more than 6-8 oz of juice at a time, it may be better to go with another model. The biggest problem I have with this juicer is that it turns--and sometimes spins--on the counter. Because it is important to keep the receptacle cup directly underneath the spout, this turning and spinning inevitably creates a mess, as the spout moves away from it's place over the cup. I find myself chasing the spout with the cup, or trying to hold onto the juicer to ensure that it stays in place. Because of it's aerodynamic design, though, it's hard to get a grip on it. Sometimes I feel like I need three hands--one for the juicer, ...

This review is from: Green Star GP-E1503 Green Power Gold JuicerI bought this juicer to juice leafy greens. I had read at least a hundred reviews on various websites and everybody seemed to give this juicer two thumbs up in the juicing leafy greens department. but it was said That it didn't juice fruits very well. I thought ok that's cool. All I want it for is to get the most out of my green. but I came to find out that it doesn't do a very good job at all juicing Collard Greens or Kale. Those are the main 2 I wanted to juice. I don't care what screen you use (fruit or vegetable) or what knob you use on this juicer and how much you tighten or loosen it,(the control knob) it just won't work. You'll get a lot of pulp an unbelievable amount of foam and very little juice. It does a great job with broccoli. It does an ok job with parsley and cilantro. but greens and kale O.M.G (Oh My Gosh)NO! I never tried wheat grass. I found that it does an excellent job on apples, oranges, carrots and celery. But that's not what i bought it for. Anyway I wish someone had told me what I'm telling you all before I paid almost $500.00 for the GS3000. But 2 years after the fact i found "GSEjuicer vs. Angle part 2" on YouTube. The E in GSE stands for Elite and it has the same problem as the old model. go to youtube and type in the above if you want to see for yourself. you have to double click the video window with the explanation of why it won't play....

Acme Juicerator Juice Extractor

This review is from: Acme Juicerator Juice ExtractorAcme was the standard for juicers when we purchased ours 15 years ago. It still does everything -- soft, hard, and green leafy vegetables, fruits, and root vegetables. The pulp from carrot and celery make the base for a great "un-chicken" salad. The citrus attachment is a worthwhile accesssory for orange and grapefruit juices. It is rock-solid and has never needed any part repaired or replaced. On the down side, it is heavy, bulky, a bit noisy. The newer juicers appear more ergonomic and boast more features, but I'm not sure if they can lay claim to the durablility of the Acme....This review is from: Acme Juicerator Juice ExtractorI bought an Acme Juicerator in 1978, use it several times a week and it is still going strong! It works great, it's easy to use, and to clean. I highly recommend it. The strong motor and stainless steel disc blades powers through whatever I put in it, and the fresh juice is fabulous....This review is from: Acme Juicerator Juice Extractori've had my acme 5001 for years. i agree it is well-built and sturdy. my main complaint is the filter sheets. you have to use these filter sheets (which are bleached) on it. once they start getting covered with pulp, you get less juice out of the machine. so, if you are doing a lot of juicing at once, you'll have to change filters, or, it will be like a King of Queens comedy episode were Doug goes through a bag of fruit for a couple drops of juice. (i have been told you can juice without the sheets.) cleaning it is a hassle too. i do own the citris attachment. it works great, though big and bulky. the shoot is small also and you have to cut cup things like apples or larger veggies. also very hard to clean. i would look into better designed juicers as there are plenty to choose from....

This review is from: Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, Black and ChromeI have rated the 8006 at five stars because of its efficiency, ease of use and quality of materials. The newly designed auger is a translucent black material that GE calls ULTEM. The warranty has been increase from 10 years to 15 years. The juicer probably functions the same as the model 8005 and 8002 so all of the previous reviews apply to the 8006. The power switch is located at the lower back of the juicer and allows the auger to be reversed if something would become lodged in the mastication extraction tube. The Omega auger is patented and has a two stage screen for greater juice output compared to other brands. For example, five medium sized HoneyCrisp apples produced a full quart of wonderful clear pulp-free juice. The apple juice does not turn brown nearly as fast as the juice from centrifugal type juicers due to the lower oxidation from the 80 rpm auger. There is very little foam, and the included screen can be used to filter the final product, if desired. The Omega 8006 does a great job with carrots but with this juicer as with any juicer, the smaller the items, the greater the juice extraction efficiency. I need to point out that the feed tube is only about 1.5" in diameter. There lies the problem with large tube centrifugal juicers. They waste about 20% of the juice and this is significant when you count the price of organic produce. I use a little cutting board to slice items while the juicer pulls them in almost by itself. It works very well. I juice greens including wheat grass and parsley, which can adhere to the spinning basket of a centrifugal juicer and cause the basket to be out of balance. This happened to me with a JuiceLady JL-500 and it cracked the top of the juicer before I could turn it off. If you do not want to cut the produce into smaller pieces then this is not the juicer for you. I enjoy using the 8006 and I have yet to see a bad review of an Omega single auger juicer. Of all the juicers made, this is definitely in the top ten and some websites rate it as No. 1. I can recommend this Omega juicer with no reservations. Enjoy!...This review is from: Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, Black and ChromeI had the opportunity to experience juicing on a loaned Jack Lalanne's JLSS Power Juicer Deluxe Electric Juicer, Stainless/Black. After juicing every day with it for over three weeks I realized I really was into juicing and it was not some new Gadget phase I was going through. So I did a ton of research and chose the Omega 8006. The first thing I can tell you is this is not as noisy as the centrifuge juicer I tried (Jack L juicer). The sound is similar to an old hand mixer on low speed. The second thing clean up took less time and was easier. Mainly the parts are smaller so they're easier to clean thoroughly. There are no awkward nooks & crannies where food can get stuck. The Omega 8600 clean up involves four main parts. The (1) shoot the food comes down, (2) blade is really a big plastic drill-bit looking thing, (3) the part which determines is the stuff you are grinding going to come out in juice form or a more solid form (such as pasta or banana yogurt!), (4) and finally the collector bins - either or both depending upon what you are doing. It takes more time for me to get the hot water going than the length of time it takes to do the clean up for the Omega 8600.Preparation is a bigger deal than with other juicers because the opening is much smaller. Some carrots for example had to be cut in 4ths to get it down the shoot. As one reviewer said with another Omega model, it gives you time to think about what you are preparing. The liquid output appears bolder/brighter and without foam compared to the centrifuge juicer. It's funny, I do notice I pause before preparing my juice to ponder would this be just as good for me if I were to sit and eat the orange, apple and carrots versus putting them into this machine and blend them. What enhances my experience with juicing is the other ingredients such as adding that bit of ginger - yum! When I was using the centrifuge, I thought more about if I had time to do the clean-up after. The machine itself is sturdy. Having it in a place where you can add the ingredients easily rather than having it stuffed under the cabinet will enhance your access and ease of use.I am VERY happy with the Omega 8600. It was difficult to wait the 3 weeks - I'm typically a want it now buyer. Mine showed up a few days earlier. I filled my time in cleaning out my refrigerator in preparing to integrate juicing in my diet. See uploaded picture of my juicing station. Finally one bit of advice.. No matter what kind of Juicer you acquire - CLEAN UP right after you juice, drink after - clean first! This prevents anything from WELDING to any parts later. Happy Juicing!...This review is from: Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, Black and ChromeHERE IS MY UPDATED REVIEW:I promised an updated review here once my official verdict was in on this juicer, so here it is. Please see my original review, still retained here below.I still will say that this juicer makes great carrot juice, no doubt about it. However I have found it to leave wheatgrass juice pulp more wet than I had expected...

Cleaning Made Simple - Dishwasher-safe, removable parts disassemble easily for cleaning

This review is from: Waring Professional JEX450 Pulp-Eject Juice Extractor, Brushed StainlessI just got one for Christmas, and have been happy with the product. I only had to use 'extreme force' if I put too much food into the chute at once. I've been juicing pineapples and apples for a few days now and have not experienced an overheating problem. Also, compared to other juicers I've had (juiceman, etc), this one is simple to clean....This review is from: Waring Professional JEX450 Pulp-Eject Juice Extractor, Brushed StainlessI recently purchased the NEW Waring juice simply because I knew the name and quality of products they typically produce. This juicer does have a larger feed chute which makes juicing easier but there are these three metal bars inside to prevent people from sticking their hand in machine. These bars obviously are there for safety but caused my food push to get stuck in the machine while juicing spinach and created a suction action. I had to wiggle and use EXTREME force to extract the food push from the machine. I also tried to juice pineapple and green apples, two of my favorites but the machine over heated. I had to follow the instructions in the manual that covered overheating throughly, now I know why they devoted so much time to overheating as this happened twice with me. I could only proceed after unplugging the machine and waiting 5 minutes with no luck, and then after ten minutes I was ready to go again. Also noticed that the pulp container had large pieces of apple skin about the size of a fifty cent piece that was not juiced. The food chute is justified to one side and also caused all the residue in the filter to collect on one side, so the longer I juiced the less juice it yeilded. The machine had two speeds, at last but never stated how many rotations per minute occured while on high or low.Overall disappointing....This review is from: Waring Professional JEX450 Pulp-Eject Juice Extractor, Brushed StainlessI waited until I'd had mine for a month, to make sure I wasn't missing some problem, but I haven't discovered a single one. I make large quantities of juice nearly every day, and in my view this juicer is efficient and simple to clean. It hasn't overheated, and it's handled every fruit I put in it with no hassle. I do tend to be careful not to overstuff the feed chute, but I've juiced whole apples without a hitch. I consider it a great buy for the money....

NativeJuicer PRCJ500 Professional Variable Speed Juicer

This review is from: NativeJuicer PRCJ500 Professional Variable Speed JuicerWhat sold me was the Consumer Digest review which rated the Native Juicer higher than the Breville but for less money--seemed like an easy decision. Perhaps my experience was a fluke and I just got a bad one. But I had a bad feeling from the minute I got the box...it seemed really cheap. The packaging was cheap, the plastic parts seemed on the thin fragile side, and the instructions were a one-pager folded, which read "2-year warranty" not the 7-year I'd seen online. That being said, I never got a chance to find out which it was, 2 or 7 years, as my Native Juicer made this nasty metal on metal sound when trying to juice a soft tomato. This was my 8th glass on this machine and after carefully washing everything, I gave it one last shot. I gave it another tomato and it started smoking, so I just returned it for a refund. I'm not totally sure about this variable speed motor concept. It seems like a lot of problems waiting to happen. Also the thin plastic lid made me nervous with the blade spinning thousands of RPMs. It's probably comparable to a lot of models of similar design, but I don't care, it still seems dangerous. The blue display is nice, but I don't like how the speed knob is just a pot and doesn't have fixed values. On the one hand, what do you expect for under $200, but I'd rather spend more $ and get something that I can enjoy for a while. The pulse button was shallow and felt cheap. Although it didn't work out, for 7 glasses, the juice was pretty awesome and tasty. I got my refund quickly, Michele was very nice and apologetic and the return was painless, so I gave it 2 stars instead of 1....This review is from: NativeJuicer PRCJ500 Professional Variable Speed JuicerI'm new to juicing and wanted a machine that could juice basic fruits and vegetables. With nothing to compare this to I'm quite impressed by the power and ability to quickly chomp through whatever I put in it. I like to mix apples with carrots and they both do really well but I've found that the juice comes out better if the carrots are not really dry. It still juices them but if the carrots are dry I soak them in water for a minute and then they seem to be as good as new. This juicer is kind of loud but not as bad as a blender. I only use it for a couple minutes a day so I don't mind it. The cleaning isn't too bad but I clean the filter part right away. I couldn't imagine trying to clean it if the food was dried onto it....This review is from: NativeJuicer PRCJ500 Professional Variable Speed JuicerI was taken in by the claims that this juicer was a top consumer product. After buying it i did a little research and could not find the "consumer report" that was stated. With trepidation, I waited for my juicer, thinking that this may be a scam. Well, it arrived. And like the other reviewer stated, it does come in "economical packaging", you might say. Well, I took it out, rinsed it off and put it to work. And it does work.I was very surprised and delighted. The dial allows for limiting the speed, which is good, cuz I put watermelon in it and "whoosh!!"--gone in an instant. Cucumbers, tomatos, carrots, etc. nicely done. I am very happy with this, just make sure you rinse/clean everything soon after using it....

HB 350 Watt Juice Extractor

This review is from: HB 350 Watt Juice ExtractorI got this juicer at a thrift store the other day.. and we have been happily juicing ever since!if you don't have a lot of money to spend, or if you are not sure you will use a juicer much, or if you need a lightweight unit to take traveling or to college, i would highly recommend this unit. it is easy to clean, relatively compact, and - guess what - it juices! yes, you could get a better juicer, but i think for the price it is a great buy. I consider it the toyota of juicers: i'd love the BMW, but i can only afford the toyota, and they will both get me to where i need to be.i took off one star because the feed tube is small, so you do have to cut items to fit. so.. that takes about another 30 seconds out of my day.really a great little machine!...

This review is from: Cuisinart CJE-1000 1000-Watt 5-Speed Juice ExtractorI bought this juicer yesterday and immediately washed it and got down to business. I juiced Carrots and Apples. After I was finished, I took a look at the pulp and I was able to squeeze juice out of the pulp still. I spoke with the sales rep and he said the Breville juicer plus was better at collecting the juice and extracting more from the pulp. So I went back and exchanged it today. I would say this is an ok juicer, but not the best. However I'm sure most juicers can't get 100% of the juice out of fruit. This machine functions properly and looks nice. I was just disappointed with the amout of juice that was left behind....This review is from: Cuisinart CJE-1000 1000-Watt 5-Speed Juice ExtractorI just got this juicer yesterday, and tried it this morning. After reading some not so good reviews, I was impressed with this machine. I used carrots and apples to start. I tried to get the whole apple in the shoot, but it was to large. I don't know where all these juicer commercials are getting their produce, but mine where average size, and wouldn't fit. No problem. I cut them in half. To my supprise, one got stuck in the bottom of the shaft. I stopped the unit and removed the piece. I cut them in quarters and started again. It worked fine. I found the reason the half apple got stuck. The shaft has a pyramid V shape at the bottom to keep the feeder bar from spinning when the unit is on I guess. Not necessary in my opinion. This is a well built unit. Stainless Steel and black. The pulp was dry, although there was a substancial amount after 10 carrots and 3 apples. It made 3 cups of juice. The anti froth ring does what is supposed to. I like the adjustable knob for the juice spout. You can close it to keep the juice from dripping out. This is a quiet but powerful machine. When you push the on button, it kicks a little to the left, but after that it doesn't move like some reviewers have claimed. The 1000 watt motor and 5 speeds is great. Low RPM's for soft vegi's, and fast for carrots and apples beets etc. Cleaning is very easy, although there are a few places that are hard to dry. Under the lid mainly. I got this a Kohl's yesterday. It was half price at $99.00, but I had a 30% off coupon, and it was $69.00. Such a Deal! I am going to buy another one today for my daughter if I can find one for $69.00. Buy this juicer! You won't be disapointed....This review is from: Cuisinart CJE-1000 1000-Watt 5-Speed Juice ExtractorI bought this without finding any other reviews. I wish I hadn't. I have a number of Cuisinart items in my kitchen and really like them all. This isn't one of them and I'm returning it today. The pulp it ejects is mushy. Juicers I've had in the past were able to create a fine, dry pulp. I pick up this pulp, slightly squeeze it with my hand and get more juice. A lot of the pulp doesn't make it to the pulp container. Quite a bit of the pulp even escapes and ends up in a fine sheet on my counter. Maybe I just expected too much from Cuisinart. I emailed their customer support to see if this was a known issue or to find out if I was doing it wrong (doubtful) and haven't heard back from them after more than a week. The juicer looks great. I like the design and the finish. Other than that I dislike it very much....
