This review is from: Citristar JuicerI usually like to 'live' with a product for awhile before posting any sort of review. We've been using our Tribest Citrus Juicer for about 3 months now. There really is not much to say other than it does exactly what I expected a citrus juicer to do... it reams citrus fruits very fast, very efficiently, very safe and easy to use, a really powerful motor, simple quick clean-up and it looks good. Excellent plastics materials used in construction and its a simple, smart design. It might be a little more expensive than many of the other citrus juicers currently in the marketplace but you can be sure you won't be disappointed. When searching for a citrus juicer I read quite a few reviews and it seems weak motors were the biggest single complaint with most of these electric citrus juicers. However I gathered from the reviews about this Tribest Citrus Juicer that a weak motor would definitely NOT be an issue and then when I considered the relatively small price difference for a juicer with a more powerful and reliable motor it really was a no-brainer decision for me. So today, after 3 months of everyday use (sometimes twice a day) squeezing 4-5 oranges and a grapefruit at a time (enough juice for two) I can comfortably come forward and recommend this juicer as a durable, quality kitchen appliance that looks good enough to leave out on the counter and you wouldn't mind using it everyday....

Roland Magimix Le Duo Plus Juicer

This review is from: Roland Magimix Le Duo Plus JuicerI bought this machine after reading Barbara Allan's book "Conquering Arthritis". She got well after a short time of JUICE FASTING and, since I could barely walk, I thought I would try that.I ordered the machine and started eating mostly raw vegetarian food. When it got here I went shopping for ORGANIC fruit and vegetables and started fasting on cabbage with celery juice, carrot juice, apple ginger lemon juice, cucumber juice with dill, pineapple with carrots and any other combination you can find the ORGANIC ingredients for. The machine works like charm, I make two batches of juice a day and a quick rinse in between cleans it up. Overnight I wash it in the dishwasher. The juice is free of pulp and the residue in the machine is very dry and scrapes out with a special little spatula into the compost bucket. Today, after 6 days of fasting, I am pain free and can walk upright. I have also lost 19 pounds....

L'Equip 215 XL Wide Mouth Juicer - Black

This review is from: L\'Equip 215 XL Wide Mouth Juicer - BlackI have done a lot of juicing over the years, starting with a garden-variety model (Oster or something), then moving up to better models till I lost my good one (a L'Equip higher-end) during a move to another state. I decided to start up again after a few years off, and bought the Jack LaLanne base model (~$99). Big mistake - never buy a white juicer! It worked alright but made a mess, including spraying juice all over the place because the spout has no deflection tunnel. Had that one for about a month before I gave it away and looked for my trusty L'Equip, but they don't make that model anymore. I bought the 215 XL hoping it would have the better quality without having to pay 200-300 bucks. This model has a bigger chute than cheap juicers, is not overly noisy, and extracts carrot juice just fine. The problem is that it also sprays juice out of the funnel; you either have to stand to the side or wear a shirt you don't care about. I think the high RPMs of the basket create too much air flow. This problem aside, you also need a bungie cord or something to hold the pulp basket up to the juicer body for the same reason; the high air flow actually pushes this basket away and if you don't watch it carefully there is an inch gap between the two and you have carrot pulp all over the place. Any other problem with this juicer is common to all centrifugal style juicers: they spin too fast and create too much froth. Another problem with this one is juicing pulpy fruit - tried pineapple and mango one time and never again - what a mess! Because I love juicing, I now bit the bullet bought a Breville BJE510XL for about $200, hoping that a move to higher-priced juicers will give me one that does not make such a mess. My advice: stay away from this and all low-end juicers and go for the higher-end models; if you do this from the start you wont't waste hundreds of bucks like I did on juicers that spray paint the kitchen walls. I'll be reviewing the Breville in the next few weeks......This review is from: L\'Equip 215 XL Wide Mouth Juicer - BlackI just started juicing for my diabetes and this machine is not only lovely on the counter but works great as well. I was a little skeptical from reading all the different juicer reviews but I thought I would give this one a chance plus it has a 10 year warranty so all the better....This review is from: L\'Equip 215 XL Wide Mouth Juicer - BlackI got this as a gift from my brother and I love it! I've tried others but this one not only fill about 3 mugs of juice, it cleans like a charm. In 5 minutes, everything is washed and done. The juicer is very powerful and I'm totally thrilled with it. When it arrived it only worked 3 times. Send it to the mfg and got it back working perfect. Excellent service and customer repair....

Superior Performance - Powerful 400-watt motor quickly turns your favorite fruits and vegetables in

Ultimate Convenience - The one-handed operation and food tray make it easy to create fresh, nutriti

Cleaning Made Simple - Dishwasher-safe, removable parts disassemble easily for cleaning

This review is from: Green Star Elite GSE-5000 Juicer ExtractorI am writing this because I had SO much difficulty finding more than a handful of customer reviews online when trying to find a juicer. My family has been juicing for years now with a popular-brand centrifugal juicer. My stepdad was diagnosed with cancer and we started researching the Gerson Therapy. This juicer is NOT recommended for the Gerson Therapy, but their system is so complicated and expensive we decided to compromise. We went with a twin-gear because it's a much better juicer than a centrifugal but it's not nearly as much trouble as a 2-stage press system.Anyway, we love it. We estimate we're getting twice as much juice per-veggie than we did with the centrifugal juicer. We juice at least 4 times per week (for 3 people) so we're thinking the price difference will easily be paid in a year just from the savings on produce. It's also easier to clean than our old one. The hardest part to clean is the mesh screen... it has some tight corners that the pulp really gets jammed into, but after cleaning it a couple times it gets much faster. The rest of the parts are easy.I haven't experienced any of the design flaws that the other reviewer mentioned. I mention that review specifically because it almost talked me out of getting this juicer, but I'm glad I decided to go ahead anyway. No juice has leaked out in any weird areas. The only part of the safety hood on mine that got dirty was the top tray around the feed chute, which is easily rinsed off. Some pulp gets into the area immediately around where the gears attach, but that can be cleaned with a squeeze of water from the sponge and a quick wipe-off. No juice got out any other areas....This review is from: Green Star Elite GSE-5000 Juicer ExtractorI purchased a Green Star Elite juicer sight unseen with great hopes and high expectations. This is the third twin gear juicer I have owned, the first being a Marathon and the second being a Green Star Gold, and my expectations were dashed when I used the Elite for the first time. I have to say that I am deeply disappointed in the Green Star Elite. In my opinion the design of the Elite is inferior to the Gold and the Marathon. The twin gears on the Elite and the Gold are the same but the plastic augers on the Elite have been extended another inch or so and the screen has been lengthened a corresponding amount. The performance of the Elite is equivalent to the Gold and I can detect no difference in either the juice or the pulp. The two significant improvements between the Elite and the Gold are the latch mechanism that holds the unit together and the location of the feed chute, which is offset in the Gold and in-line in the Elite. However, the latch mechanism is also a major disadvantage to the machine. The Elite suffers in comparison to the Gold in multiple ways. Here are the points I have found that I believe are poor design:The auger part of the Elite begins immediately after the steel gears and there is effectively no gap. This means that about ¼ of the circumference of the grinders is not usable. In the Gold there is a gap that allows the pulp and juice to exit from the grinders before entering the augers. The feed chute is now a part of the safety hood which covers the juicing chamber. This means that the hood must be cleaned every time the juicer is used and it is made out of thin, flimsy plastic with reinforcing ribs and is most surely not intended to be cleaned as it is very difficult to do so.The feed chute on the Elite is smaller than the one on the Gold. The plunger, which is the same size as the one on the Gold is thus harder to fit into the chute. The corners on the chute are also much sharper than those on the Gold which again makes it harder to insert the plunger. The plunger for the Elite is apparently made from the same molds used for the plunger on the Gold. However, the Elite plunger has a flat end where the Gold plunger is contoured to fit around the gears. The Elite plunger is not as effective as the Gold plunger and leaves food trapped in the chute. The chute entry is part of the safety hood and the hood fits over the chute. Juice works its way into the gap and, because the hood fits over the chute, it leaks onto the gear housing. The gear housing in the Elite contains the o-ring seal that was part of the main body in the Gold. As such, it is more subject to abrasion during cleaning. The gear housing in the Elite seals against the main body to keep juice from leaking out but there is a boss that the safety hood must fasten to which is part of the main body but must pass through the gear housing. Thus, the sealed gear housing has a hole in it that allows juice to leak out.It is very difficult to clean the face of the Elite main body where the gear housing attaches. Not only is the surface rougher than that of the Gold but the new latch mechanisms get in the way. This makes it difficult to reach in to clean the surfaces. Also, the Gold surface was almost flat where the Elite has a new ring of plastic that is needed for the new o-ring design. It would be an advantage if the latch mechanisms pivoted out of the way for cleaning in the same way that they do on the Gold. The Elite main case is inferior to the Gold case in two ways. First, the Gold case handle is molded in as part of the case so it cleans easily. Not so the Elite case where the handle and the cover are different pieces. The handle has a square corner that is impossible to clean and traps juice and pulp that splashes on it. Second, the Elite has no storage for the cord, which can then get lost or must be wound up to keep out of the way.The b...

Black & Decker JE1500 Fruit-and-Vegetable Juicer

This review is from: Black & Decker JE1500 Fruit-and-Vegetable JuicerIt's a fair juicer and you can use it for everyday job but there are some cons:When we juiced the first carrots, most parts of the juicer got the orange color and wasn't gone after washing. It adds some pulp to the juice (which is not necessarily bad). The motor rotates so fast that there's not enough time for juicing resulting in some unjuiced left-over.Overall, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a decent juicer, this one is good for the price....This review is from: Black & Decker JE1500 Fruit-and-Vegetable JuicerFor the money it works, fine but:1) It leaves alot of chunks behind, pieces of fruit & veggies are not fully processed.2)The pulp is pretty wet, it doesn't get alot of the juice out, with wet pulp it gathers up in the lid and blocks the remaining pulp from going in to the trash recepticle.3. Cutting Blade and strainer are hard to clean....This review is from: Black & Decker JE1500 Fruit-and-Vegetable JuicerWe use this daily and working great so far. Except cleaning effort, I would say this is a good juicer for the price tag it carries....

This review is from: 220 Volt Braun Juicer Citrus \"WILL NOT WORK IN THE UNITED STATES\"Note, this rating of 5 stars was for the last model of juicer by Braun, the MPZ-6 model. I wish this newer model was USA compliant bc. the last juicer I had by them lasted 10 years. It was so easy to clean with just water, sturdy, & reliable. It didn't break the bank either. Ho Hum.. I'll have to find another brand. If you are looking at this model, and compliance isn't an issue, I would put my bets on this....

This review is from: Kuvings Silent Juicer - NS-750 Upright Masticating JuicerI received my Kuvings Silent Juicer (KSJ) on May 10th from abt.com and have been using it everyday since then. I am a seasoned juicer and before I made juice 2-3 times a day with my Omega 8004 which is also a slow speed masticating juicer and I have tried a friend's Omega VRT330 which is a competing re-badged, over-marketed juicer from the factory that also makes the Hurom Juicer. Its great that similar technology to the commercial juice presses are finally available in your home (commercial juice press operate as slow as 1 RPM, these work at about 80RPM - both A LOT slower than tradition home centrifugal juicers at over 10K RPM resulting in a better juice that doesn't quickly settle separated from being spun at high-speed). My only focus is making juice and the KSJ is the best fit for my needs. The horizontal type, like my 8004, is better for greens, a little easier to clean as it has less parts/surface area, and can make pasta, purees, nut butter etc but its significant slower than my KSJ due to the smaller feed chute, auger, etc. If you want to make lots of juice, juice mixtures, or like to juice fruit the KSJ is certainly worth the extra money over a horizontal type and a no-brainer over the older, more expensive Hurom/Omega design. I was using my horizontal machine 2-3 times/day for mixed juices - with the Silent Juicer I can make the same amount in one juicing but a strainer is required unlike the horizontal machine which doesn't have enough pulp to make a difference to warrant a strainer. Some people think both horizontal and vertical machines need to be strained and my 8004 actually came with a strainer for the juice catch cup - you'll have to make the personal preference call but I favor strained juice with vertical auger juicers - its worth the extra step for the results! As I said before, I've used the competing Omega 330 and in the real/non-marketed world these competing vertical masticating juicers all perform about the same - there is no significant difference in performance in regards to yield, pulp in the juice, or clean up time. The KSJ is better designed - larger in-house built motor [smaller motors burn out more often especially in frequent use], larger auger, larger pulp port that doesn't clog as fast if you are juicing stringy produce(tip: cut produce fibers in smaller pieces if this is a problem for you), various extra safety features, membrane covered power switch, Tritan BPA-free components(juicing bowl/pulp cup/juice cup), and it cost $60 less than the Omega VRT330HD! You can't go wrong with either an Omega or a Kuvings vertical auger juicer but its important to note these advantages since juicing performance is virtually same. For beginners you'll also be happy with the better documentation and free recipe book - I did not use either much as I am pretty familiar with juicers. You can see a few videos of my KSJ in action at youtube.com/topiparrot...This review is from: Kuvings Silent Juicer - NS-750 Upright Masticating JuicerActually I needed an masticating juicer for wheatgrass. After I did a lot of research, I realized this vertical masticating juicer is good for both fruits and leafy-greens. Actually a horizontal type is better than a vertical type if you juice only wheatgrass. However, a vertical has many better points if you wanna juice fruits as well as wheatgrass so I decided to buy this juicer. I am so happy with this purchase. Great for grape juice too! Love it.....This review is from: Kuvings Silent Juicer - NS-750 Upright Masticating JuicerThis juicer is awesome! Compared to others that I've used, it is really quiet-and the operation is silky smooth by low-speed pressing technology. Its a few more bucks than the typical, but I see it as an investment in my family's health, It is well engineered. This is one of the best purchases I have made. Highly recommend it!!!!...

Green Star GS3000 Juicer and Peanut Butter Grinder

This review is from: Green Star GS3000 Juicer and Peanut Butter GrinderI have had many juicers and was happy. But since I received my Greenstar 3000, I have no idea how I have lived without it. I look forward toward juicing and using this juicer every morning, noon or whatever time daily. My diet has greatly improved and my getting a variety of greens into my diet has greatly increased. This unit juices anything you want to. I have lost 23 pounds since I received my juicer by incorporating it into my diet plan. Love making my own nut butters, milks, sorbets, ice cremes, etc. All are healthy and good for me and taste great to booth. I do not care what anybody else thinks of this unit, it is worth the cost to me as just I beleive my health is worth the effort. It is easy to use, comes with many attachments, very quiet. I do not mind cleaning it even when I am in a hurry as the unit is now part of my family...Me , my wife, and my Greenstar!...This review is from: Green Star GS3000 Juicer and Peanut Butter GrinderI love my Greenstar 3000 for many things. It makes great sorbets, fabulous juice and I'm sure much more. Nut butters however are not the Greenstar's forte. I was very excited to make almond butter after seeing the Rawvolution guy demonstrate it on the video, but was very disappointed. In the video the almond butter immediately comes out creamy with plenty of oil. In reality it comes out like powder. I called Tribec and they weren't much help (the machines instructions are very limiting, you have to buy additional dvd's and books to get even basic recipes and instructions), she said to make sure they were soaked almonds, which they were and that sometimes you have to run it through the machine a few times, which I did, still ending up with more of an almond paste, with no taste. Very disappointing, I have to wonder if it was an illusion on the video, did they just run already made almond butter through the machine? :(...

This review is from: Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice ExtractorI used an Omega 1000 for 7 years. The Omega would often get out of balance (you have to stop juicing, disassemble, clean and start over), has a small feed chute and at times would "spray" some juice from the spout. The Breville 800 has the following great features:Big feed chute. You can process 3 regular size carrots at once or three medium apples or oranges (stacked in the feed chute). No cutting needed. The chute is 3" in Dia and 7" tall.Disassembles quickly. No screws. Fits easily in the dishwasher. The pitcher included has a spout opening, so there's no overspray. Additionally, the lid is made to separate the foam from the juice.Never gets out of balance because it's and ejection style juicer. It still does a great job of extracting the majority of juice with the high rpm motor.Last, it looks very nice on the counter with the stainless steel construction....This review is from: Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice ExtractorWe just bought this juicer on Amazon, using the $25 discount and the free shipping. Made it the best price on the internet when we bought it first of December 2005. Before commenting on the juicer, let me tell you what we used before this juicer arrived. We have a top of the line Green Power juicer. If you know juicers, you know this is one of the best. We've been juicing with it on a daily basis for 10 years and it is still going strong. It has a high juice yield (dry pulp), can juice grasses and greens efficiently (wheatgrass, parsley, spinach etc.), and low temperatures and rpm minimize oxidation so juice lasts a long time. Other advantages are claimed, but these are the biggest for us. A well-known downside to twin-screw type juicers like the Green Power is that it takes quite a bit of force to push items like carrots into the juicer, because there is no cutting blade action, just the gripping/squeezing action of the twin screws. Frankly, after 10 years of pushing hard on this thing, we've gotten tired of it, even though it makes great juice. We also don't like the 1.5" square opening which requires us to cut up apples and large carrots before feeding them. Cleanup isn't too bad, but not great either. I decided to buy a juicer that would make good juice in reasonably high yields but with emphasis on speed and ease of use. My intent was that this juicer would complement but not replace the Green Power.Well, after doing a lot of research and reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I decided to buy the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite. The most attractive claims for this juicer were the fast juicing speed, relatively easy cleanup, and the widemouth (3" round) opening. The stainless steel exterior was also a plus, as the Green Power's white plastic parts became stained long ago (vegetable juices can do that!). The biggest concern with this juicer was the limited warranty period (1-3 years) compared to other juicers in its class (which go as high as 15 years). Phone discussion with a vendor indicated concerns about the lifetime of the motor, though his experience was not with the Elite, which has a new, more powerful motor. I also had some concerns about how efficiently it would extract juice compared to our Green Power, how it would work on spinach and other leafy vegetables, and whether the juice would stay fresh as long.Though I'd have preferred a better warranty, I decided the features were attractive enough to try it. It is a lot of money to throw away if it fails just after the warranty. But if the ease of juicing was as good as claimed, it would almost be worth it!The new juicer arrived a few days ago. It was simple to put together. The instructions were clearly written. After washing the parts in the dishwasher (yes, they are dishwasher proof), my wife and I proceeded to make one of our standards, carrot-apple-celery. Boy, were we blown away! This juicer met our expectations and more! Our apples were large, so we had to quarter them despite the 3" opening. However, in the Green Power we have to cut them into 9 pieces, requiring 4 knife cuts instead of 2 for the Juice Fountain. The apples fed into the juicer easily and very rapidly. Apples feed into the Green Power without too much force, but can be hard to feed because of the pulp they generate (you make apple sauce in the screw feed area and it backs up the chute). We usually use Granny Smiths to minimize that problem on the Green Power, but the Juice Fountain had no problem at all, so I tried some Galas and they also fed in beautifully. In the Green Power, you have to alternate carrots with soft fruits to avoid stalling the screw conveying action; there was no such need with the Juice Fountain. For ease of feeding pulp-producing or juicy fruits and vegetables, I give the Juice Fountain an "A+" compared to the Green Power a "C".We then fed in the celery. In the Green Power, celery strings wrap around the end of the screws and plug the end plug. The cutting/centrifugal juicing mechanism of the Juice Fountain eliminates such issues completely. The celery fed in very easily and produced plenty of juice. In the Green Power, celery that is small or somewhat old (limp) can be hard to feed into the chute since the stalks don't feed into the screw that easi...

This review is from: Oklife Okl6063 9 Speed Stainless Steel Juice ExtractorThis is a very easy juicer to operate and clean! It is durable and very attractive with a high quality stainless steel that goes with other appliances in my kitchen. When I opened the juicer it comes neatly pre-assembled, very nice. I proceeded to juice my favorite juice recipe-celery and carrots, it was so easy and I do like the variable 9 speed. I was able to control the speed level so effortless from the lower level speed up to the 9 speed level. The pulp was very dry which shows that oklife Juicer was able to extract the maximum juice and the juice taste great! What I like most is that Oklife OKl6063 is so easy to use and clean, with just three quick steps, viola, you are ready to juice! I owned a very popular juicer brand but I only used it a couple of times and stopped because it was so difficult to operate it and clean.I have used my Oklife Juicer every single day since I bought it because it is hassle free and it does the job!...This review is from: Oklife Okl6063 9 Speed Stainless Steel Juice ExtractorI was very pleased with the Oklife 9 Speed Juice Extractor. It was much easier to operate than I expected and my teenagers love using it too! The juice from the fruits and vegetables quickly flowed out into the collection container with no effort. The pulp was very fine and I used it in a batch of muffins and in pancakes for added fiber and nutrition, so nothing was wasted. The Oklife 9 Speed Juice Extractor was also very easy to clean. I sprayed out the micro-filter and placed it and the hard plastic containers in the dishwasher. Overall I am very pleased with the product!...This review is from: Oklife Okl6063 9 Speed Stainless Steel Juice ExtractorI received my OKLIFE juicer a week ago. I am new to juicing. After my last visit to my doctor, I knew I had to make a change and eat better. Before I made my decision to purchase my first juicer, I researched juicers and decided at the last minute to buy Oklife OKL6063 9 speed stainless steel juicer because of the 9 speed variable speed control. The first thing I did was to run to the store to buy carrots. I chose carrots, since they are hard and will definitely be a good way to test the efficacy of the OKlife juicer. I threw in four hard carrots in the feed chute, and the juicer did a very good job of juicing them all at once- that's fast juicing! I thought that was amazing. Another thing that attracted me to this juicer is the stainless steel housing, which I consider to be safe. One of the brands I almost bought was going for over 199 dollars, but the OKL6063 with stainless steel micromesh filter and housing container was more affordable.I have become popular again in my house, my three young boys love Daddy's healthy lifestyle regimen. Oklife Juicer has helped me to have fun and quality time with my sons while passing on meaningful healthy lifestyle living to their young minds. This is one purchase the entire family love. I have refocused my grocery spending to include more fruits and vegetables, now that I have a tool like Oklife juicer.OKlife juicer is sturdy. No wonder they give two year limited warranty!! I am still puzzled at how they can fit the OKlife juicer price so low. I could not be happier. I have a cousin with health challenges, I cannot think of a better gift.By the way, this machine comes pretty much assembled.OKlife juicer far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this juicer...

This review is from: Nostalgia LJS-402 Old-Fashioned Lemonade Juice StandThis Nostalgia Electrics Old Fashioned Lemonade Cart was on my wish list this past Christmas, and I feel fortunate to have received it. Not detracted by the fact that it looks like a toy, I had a serious intention in mind for it: To put the hundreds of lemons that would otherwise begin to rot in my yard to good use. Happily, this product delivered more than I had hoped for. It eliminates the step of either whipping the water and sugar together to the point where your arm wants to drop off, or heating the water to dissolve the sugar faster (and then having to compensate for the heated water by adding extra ice, risking an overly diluted lemonade in the process). This citrus juicer solves this problem by continuously stirring the contents of the 8-cup capacity acrylic pitcher the entire time the extraction motor is active (and yes, you read that right: It can hold a full 8-cups, not the meager four cups implied by the 1-quart designation in the description). Not only do the plastic paddles combine the juice and the sugar effectively, but to that you may add crushed ice. This all but eliminates the need for refrigeration prior to serving. I wasn't loving the short spout, the constant dribbles and the hassle of finding just the right catch basin while juicing with my Cuisinart Citrus Pro Juicer. This product, by contrast, all but eliminates the usual citrus juicing inconveniences. That means it will stay out on the countertop and get regular use, which is more than I can say about the Cuisinart, or even the Jack Lelanne juicer I also own.The LJS-402, the model designation for this product, offers a relatively quiet 25-watt reversible motor (rotates clockwise/counterclockwise). The four-legged lemonade stand design prevents the unit from rocking and walking the countertop the way my Cuisinart Citrus Pro Juicer does. It also offers a sliding switch that makes it possible to increase or decrease the amount of pulp in the juice to suit one's preference. And unlike many citrus juicers on the market, the container in which it collects the juice also doubles as a pitcher that can go from stand to refrigerator because it can be removed from the base on which it sits. So to recap, there's no need to come up with a receptacle into which the juice flows, it dispenses easily from the attached spout, and it is possible to stow the leftovers in the refrigerator without fishing a pitcher out of the cupboard. Nifty. Bottom line? This product may look like a toy and sadly may also feel like a toy. Nevertheless, it is surprisingly convenient, and a timesaver compared to competing products. Moreover, there are fewer items left over to clean up because the process is self contained from start to finish. This is an ingenious design, a great kitchen conversation piece ---- you can't help but smile at a product that looks like this one does ---- and one that I ultimately hope Nostalgia Electrics will market more aggressively. As of this writing, you won't find this product in your local Bed, Bath & Beyond, nor at Walmart or at Macys. That's a real shame. Nostalgia/Helman Group has come up with their share of duds, including the donut maker that bombed this past holiday season (judging from the almost unanimously negative reviews elsewhere on Amazon). By contrast, this compact, space-saving citrus juicer is not the gimmick it may first appear. I personally like this juicer so well that I am seriously thinking about buying a second one to stash away before it is discontinued -- and I never buy two identical copies of any product so that's saying something! Kudos to Amazon for stocking it....This review is from: Nostalgia LJS-402 Old-Fashioned Lemonade Juice StandI ordered one of these Lemonade Stand Juicers and it konked out half-way through the juicing process; the replacement juicer I subsequently received then also did exactly the same thing. They both started out just fine, but then the plastic paddles suddenly began moving to the left, instead of the right -- in a very noisy, clanking way, and then suddenly stopped. After quite a bit of troubleshooting, we realized the motor was completely "dead". Now its only true function is for serving the lemonade or other frozen drinks. This may only have been a fluke, but after receiving a second dud, I sincerely doubt it. They should never even have passed inspection. However, I must add that I have several other Nostalgia Electrics/Helman Group products, and am quite pleased with those....This review is from: Nostalgia LJS-402 Old-Fashioned Lemonade Juice StandNot made sturdy enough. It should electric to keep lemon ade cool. That is my error. I have other Helman Group products and I am happy with them. This item is not sturdy enough....

This review is from: Cuisinart CCJ-500 Pulp Control Citrus JuicerI purchased this juicer to juice lemons and limes so that I wouldn't have to use my "hand held squeeze" juicer anymore. It works great and it gets almost all of the fruit out of the rind and it produces a larger amount of juice than compared to my hand juicer. Personally I wouldn't suggest using it to juice a large amount of fruit at a time set at the "lowest" pulp setting because the pulp catcher fills up fast and you would have to continuously clean it. This works perfectly for what I purchased it for. It stays in place too unlike like the Cuisinart CCJ-100 and it looks nice on the counter....This review is from: Cuisinart CCJ-500 Pulp Control Citrus JuicerI like to keep a bottle of fresh-squeezed lemon juice in the fridge for making lemonade, other drinks, and for cooking - let's face it, concentrated lemon juice you get in the store is lousy (and that's being nice). But I'm not willing to pay $50 to $100 or more for fresh juice, and the more versatile juicers out there don't do as good a job with lemons as a dedicated citrus juicer.I've ordered and set back several basic citrus juicers (including the earlier Cuisinart incarnation, the CCJ-100), looking for something that does its job and isn't a piece of junk. I've finally found it. The motor is sturdy enough to withstand a good amount of downward pressure without choking, and has lasted at least through several large bags of lemons (my only complaint about the CCJ-100 was that it wore out within a short timeframe, and the motor started screaming - definitely on its last legs). Like the 100, this model has a nice watertight spout that holds the juice without spilling a drop until you are ready to dispense. It also has a more stable footprint (a chief complaint about the 100 from other users), a pulp selector for three levels of pulp, and a spin feature that extracts juice that normally stays in the pulp.Since it's a new model I wasn't able to find a better deal than $30, but it's worth it to have a product that works. No complaints!...This review is from: Cuisinart CCJ-500 Pulp Control Citrus JuicerFor the current price of $29.95 this is a very good juicer. My typical use involves juicing an entire bag of oranges (8 - 10) in one session, several times a week. Though small, it is powerful and the rotating hub has never stopped under the pressure I've applied to it. The spin reversing feature works well also. I like the high speed feature to get the last drops of juice out of the pulp.Only slight negative: it can be harder than one would expect to clean all of the pulp out of it. After scrubbing with a soapy Dobie pad, I'll still find pulp pieces on it after it's dry....

This review is from: Omega 8006 Juicer (Color: Chrome & Black) Plus Organic Wheatgrass Growing Kit: Combo Includes Omega Juice Machine & Wheat Grass Grow Kit - Kit Includes Trays, Seeds, Soil, Instructions & More.My husband and I went through three bigmouth juicers (one blew up (??) one blew out the little plastic piece that holds the clamp on, and one just went quiet and died after fifteen minutes of use. We also tried the Lalane and it was awful. We had to put the entire juicer on a box to raise it high enough to catch the juice, which comes out of a little hole an inch from the counter. Finally I got tired of it and bought the Omega 8006 with a fifteen year warranty. It's quiet enough you can talk and be heard while it's running, and though it's slower (slightly) it's really cool to watch do its thing. And I ended up with less than one fifth the refuse (goes in my compost pile) than with the other four juicers. Plus, I didn't even KNOW it makes nut butters and smoothies and pasta and flour....etc etc etc. And a free wheatgrass kit! I'm so happy I could do flips! Just wish I could paste my smile on here. : )))))...This review is from: Omega 8006 Juicer (Color: Chrome & Black) Plus Organic Wheatgrass Growing Kit: Combo Includes Omega Juice Machine & Wheat Grass Grow Kit - Kit Includes Trays, Seeds, Soil, Instructions & More.My wife picked this model for Mother's day. I've let her use it for a few months before writing a review, but the quality of this machine is still the same as when it came from the box. With this one, we even got a ton of wheatgrass in the kit, we haven't planted the kit yet, but it looks like it'll be great....

Household Juicer in White

This review is from: Household Juicer in WhiteI got my Champion Juicer about 15 years ago, and LOVED it. It is a well made and versatile workhorse that does everything from grinding grain to making peanut butter. However do not be fooled by the new machines. They look the same, but the interior configuration is different. It does not work the way it is supposed to, and the company doesn't care. Several years after I got my juicer, my mother-in-law wanted to get a better juicer than the centrifigual one she already had. Upon MY advice, she gave away her old, reliable juicer and bought a Champion. I was shocked that the motor sounded loose and rattly, and the pulp came out wet and drippy. Hardly any juice came out. It was obviously a piece of junk that was either broken, or poor quality, or both. I called Whole Foods, where it was purchased, and they said that they did not offer any warranties on their juicers. They advised me to contact Champion directly. When I called the Champion company, the person who answered the phone was rude and defensive. She said that they had "upgraded" the unit, and that the noise simply reflected the "better" motor. She flatly denied that the machine could possibly be defective, and she said that the company policy does not allow refunds. She claimed that we must be doing something wrong - it didn't matter that I already owned one and knew how it was supposed to work. My only choice was to ship this extremely heavy machine back to California (AT MY OWN EXPENSE), or accept it as is! So my unfortunate mother-in-law had given away her good juicer, and was stuck with one that barely worked. It languished in her cupboard for a long time, unused. Now, several years later, she is caring for a sick family member, and desperately needs fresh juice. We lugged it out, thinking that it was better than nothing, but when we plugged it in today, it wouldn't even turn on. The machine is totally dead, and she did not even get a single full glass of juice from it! Of course, the company claims that "nothing is wrong with the machine". My suggestion is that if you want a good juicer, buy an Omega, or purchase a used Champion that is more than 15 years old....This review is from: Household Juicer in WhiteI've owned this juicer for 8 years, and have never had a problem. Of course, I only juice apples, oranges, carrots, grapefruit, ginger, and beets, so I do not know how stuff like spinach, broccoli, wheatgrass, and the sort turn out. Clean-up involves brushing off 5 parts, which takes about one minute. Just buy a nylon bristle brush, make sure to use only warm water (never hot so as not to mis-shape the pieces), and clean immediately after use. To give you an idea of how economical this machine is, and juicing in general: yesterday, i bought an 18 pound bag of Texas Rio Red grapefruit for $6. There were 21 grapefruit, large and very juicy. I used 4 this morning to make three large beer mug-size glasses. That is 29 cents times 4, for a total of $1.20, approximately. $1.20 divided by 3 glasses is 40 cents. Very good compared to $3 or $4 at a juice shop, where they are normally adding apple juice from concentrate or ice. I just hope mine goes 27 years like the other reviewer's....This review is from: Household Juicer in WhiteThis is possibly the best juicer on the market. I have owned mine for twenty-seven (27) years! I have never had a problem with it, and it has aided me in improving my health. I beg to differ with the other reviewer, as I juice wheatgrass fairly often, with no trouble....

This review is from: Samson GB-9001 in Black - Wheatgrass Fruit and Vegetable JuicerI mainly needed a new juicer for juicing wheatgrass. This machine is great because not only can it juice grass but it can also be used for vegetable and fruit juicing. It has completely replaced my other vegetable and fruit juicer!! Now I just have one machine that does it all! Also a big bonus is that is also makes soy milk! Frozen healthy sorbets, and all natural nut butters, I made cashew butter and it was great and cheaper then buying at the store. Oh yes, I also made fresh pasta, and salsa. The clean up is so easy, the parts won't rust, (which is the reason my old juicer needed to be replaced). It's a breeze a take apart and put back together, just a few seconds. It's a dream, couldn't be happier with this product. Oh yes and it really squeezes the last drop out of the wheatgrass, the pulp comes out bone dry! My last juicer did not do that. I'm getting more juice for my buck!...This review is from: Samson GB-9001 in Black - Wheatgrass Fruit and Vegetable JuicerAll the good things from the other reviews are correct. Versatile, long warranty, easy to clean, etc. But there is a catch. I purchased only for wheatgrass which I juice daily for health reasons. The manual says to feed very small quantities at a time, less than with other juicers, OR SEVERAL OF THE PLASTIC BITS won't take the strain. So you can either constantly watch how you feed the hopper or pay the price. I am on my third juice strainer (an internal non-optional part) because the other two shattered. Not a pretty sight. Keep this in mind...This review is from: Samson GB-9001 in Black - Wheatgrass Fruit and Vegetable JuicerBought this for wheatgrass juicing, but I am really impressed with the fact that I can make other stuff with it. Several pasta attachments!! The one negative review on this product vaguely talks about it taking too long, which is not my experience. Maybe they want something more like a blender. I don't know. Anyway, its a hard-core juice extractor, so you wouldn't expect it to process the food at warp speed! It works about as fast as the wheatgrass juicer they use at Jamba Juice from what I can tell. It's also easy to clean. Love love love it!...
