This review is from: Big Boss Juicer, 700W 18,000 RPMCustomer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

This juicer is a surprisingly easy to use and clean, relatively compact, handsome machine. There is enough power to juice just about any fruit or vegetable. This machine makes pulp free juice. Drinking juice made from ingredients that I choose myself is a wonderful thing - there are no mystery chemicals or additives unless I put them in myself. The only caution, fresh homemade juice shouldn't be kept for days, there is just too much opportunity for food safety issues. Compared to our Jack LaLanne juicer (Jack LaLanne JLPJB Power Juicer Juicing Machine), the Big Boss is so much better. The Big Boss is smaller, lighter, easier to clean, quieter, and doesn't spit all over the kitchen when it runs. For the first running, I suited up with an apron, towel on the floor, cleared off the counter and thought about putting on safety glasses. No need for all that personal protective equipment, the juice goes in the glass, the pulp in the huge bin in back, and nothing all over the place. The machine has four suction cup feet to hold it in place. The Big Boss is just simple to use. No tools required for cleaning / disassembly. The cutting wheel / filter takes a tiny bit of force to remove (grab the spigot and rear black pulp ramp then pull upward). Other than that, this is a piece of cake to clean. All the parts are top rack dishwasher safe - but realistically good soapy water followed by a hot water rinse is about all that is required to clean the parts. The cutter / filter is a little bit difficult to clean, the nature of the beast, pulp is kind of hard to remove. The provided "paint brush" doesn't really work very well. I used a good old dish brush and easily cleaned the filter (something like this - Oxo Steel Dish Brush).I like the fact that the spigot is almost six inches high, that leaves enough space to use a good sized glass. It's a good idea to have several glasses on hand, when the motor is turned off a lot of juice runs out of the spigot (centrifugal force keeps the juice inside the machine, when the blade stops, juice runs out). The pulp bin is black so it is hard to know if the bin is getting full. This isn't necessarily a problem since that bin probably holds the equivalent of a bushel of fruit pulp. The box includes the juicer, care instruction book (sort of a quick start guide), and a well illustrated thirty page recipe book. The recipe book contains some excellent food safety instructions. Do not store juice from melons, berries, cherries, mangoes, papayas, potatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, lettuce, and green (they are all high pH and can grow bacteria very quickly especially in the refrigerator). Do not juice bananas, avocados, coconuts, eggplants, or leeks (mostly because they are soft fibrous or oily and would quickly plug the machine). Don't store juice longer than one month in a sealed container refrigerated or frozen, (I would suggest not more than a few days either way). Orange juice is different from commercial juice. In the factory they use a juice press and filters to remove or add pulp. The juicer essentially grinds up everything and the filter is fine enough that only juice passes through to the glass. The flavor is different. Although the recipe book suggests juicing the whole thing, including the peel, I don't care for that bitter flavor. Apple juice is a fun food chemistry experiment - the juice comes out of the machine clear and slightly yellow colored. After about five minutes the juice turns dark brown, a perfectly normal process. I like this machine a lot. The construction appears to be solid (the filter / cutter has a very simple clutch mechanism to prevent ruining the motor or tearing up the cutter). I especially like how easy it is to clean. And the pulp makes great compost or additions to baked goods.I've added some pictures of the unit disassembled to show how simple it is to clean....This review is from: Big Boss Juicer, 700W 18,000 RPMCustomer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

The Big Boss Juicer is a good introductory model if you are just starting juicing and are feeling your way around. Inexpensive, reasonably compact, and at just over 9 lbs, it has good weight which helps stability and makes it less likely to tip over when the motor is working hard. It has a 2- speed, 700-watt motor which is decent, just not heavy duty. (A 1200 -1500 watt unit would handle a heavier burden and would bite harder, and be likely to outlive its limited 1 year warranty). Because of the plastic housing, I must assume the gears are also plastic. The large 3-inch feeder tube reduces prep time as larger pieces can be inserted. There is no pulp regulator so you vary the amount of juiced pulp after pulverizing by adding back liquid and blending to achieve desired consistency.Like other extractors, the Big Boss Juicer uses a fast whirling disk to cut fruit and vegetables into tiny pieces and then spins to separate juice from pulp. Once separated from the pulp, the juice flows from the appliance's side spout into your glass or container. The side spout design creates spillage as you move to fill different juice containers while the spout drips. The pulp fill container is dark plastic and not see-through; not se...

Handy Gourmet 5 in 1 Juicer/Food Processor

This review is from: Handy Gourmet 5 in 1 Juicer/Food ProcessorThis product is useless. It fails at every one of its functions. I've tried using it just as a blender, or a processor, or a juicer, and it does not work. It only makes an awful mess....This review is from: Handy Gourmet 5 in 1 Juicer/Food ProcessorIt looks better on the picture. In person, it reminds me of a toy. It is small, plastic and cheap. For the money, I could have gotten a much nicer one with a glass carafe. It comes with several attachments but no good instructions, although it's pretty self-explanatory, but I'm afraid to use them for any heavy kitchen work! It just seems like it is going to stop working and/or break each time I use it. Not worth the money!...This review is from: Handy Gourmet 5 in 1 Juicer/Food ProcessorOrdered one for self and one for Mother-in-law. The enclosed "instruction booklet" does not tell you how to put it together and the only recipe is to extract juice from radishes! The diagram too small to be legible. It doesn't even show how to use blender, chopper or grinder attachments. It is clear that English is not the native language of whoever wrote the manual....

Champion Household Juicer (International Australian Model)

This review is from: Champion Household Juicer (International Australian Model)I first used this juicer when I worked at a high end restaurant, we used it all the time. It can make peanut and other nut butters as well as juice about anything. I purchased one for home around 10 years ago and it is still going strong. I take it to my kids day care and push peeled frozen bananas through it for some of the best home made instant "ice cream" you can find (all the kids love it and it is cool to watch and participate). This also works great for frozen peaches - amazing stuff that everyone likes and is great for you. I generally juice fruits like carrots and apples as well as nuts and the above frozen fruits. It has a magnetic safety interlock where the motor with the "masticator" part will not turn on unless the housing is attached. All the parts are sturdy and the motor is more than adequate. It takes about 7 min. to clean depending on the material, nut butters don't rinse right off like vegetables. There is a screen that allows the juice to flow through, and it does not seem to clog with prolonged use. If you take the screen out and put in the solid plate it will then grind up things like nut butters and frozen fruit. This can produce minor drips around the plate which is the only real down side. A little expensive but I figure it will be inherited....

This review is from: The Sharper Image 8021SI Stainless-Steel 700-Watt Super JuicerI went in to buy the Breville JE95XL but saw this stainless steel beauty and with it's $79 price tag and decided to go for it. Had it one day and that was more than enough.1. very poor juicing all around, pulp left over had tons of moisture which means you're using way more (expensive) produce to get the same amt of juice. there goes the low price.2. the stupid spout is too low to get a decent jar or cup under so you need to juice into a bowl or something, or else have a 2nd person hold your container at an angle while you're feeding produce into it.3. GIANT mess. when i tried to run the soaking wet pulp back through the juicer to extract the rest of the juice, a juicy sludge poured out the SIDES all around the juice spout. got all over the juicer, the counter and everywhere. 4. the second time i juiced i smelled smoke. i am positive the thing would have broken very rapidly had i not just returned the piece of dung immediately. I returned it and bought the Breville that I had originally planned on buying and it is a world of difference. light years better. i love love love it and highly recommend anyone considering a juicer in the under $200 range buy it. dry pulp, tons of juice. awesome design. no mess. easy clean up. p.s. if you use a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond (they never expire, even if they say they do they don't) it's only gonna cost you $120, which is a very good price for such a great juicer.Buy a Sharper Image Super Juicer AT YOUR PERIL...This review is from: The Sharper Image 8021SI Stainless-Steel 700-Watt Super JuicerThis is the first juicer I've owned, so I don't really have a comparison. However, I did do quite a bit of research before buying this. Mine has the black top, not clear, so I can't see what's happening, but apart from that it's the same. I was very impressed with the motor. However, unlike the photos, I couldn't find small enough apples or pairs to go whole down the tube, and had to cut them in 1/4, but no problem. Also, the orange juice made from oranges with peel on (as suggested) tasted awful. Perhaps the really thin-peel oranges would be fine, but none available at the moment. I quickly discovered that although it says that you don't have to peel, the juice is much nicer for many fruits when you do - i.e. citrus, pineapple, mango - fruits that you wouldn't eat the peel anyway. I deducted one star because I did find that the clean-up took longer than expected. All these ads always show a 1-2-3 quick-clean but anyone who has juiced, and for those that haven't, you MUST clean immediately after juicing, otherwise those little bits of fruit stick to everything and are impossible to clean off and (Heaven forbid) can grow bacteria..... But quite honestly, for the price, I think it's a good deal - from what I've seen of much more expensive ones, this is comparable. One last thing - I was surprised that the remaining pulp wasn't dryer for some fruits - seemed like you could extract more juice (especially pineapple) - but then the recipe book suggests using the pulp for muffins, and that seems like a great idea which I shall try....This review is from: The Sharper Image 8021SI Stainless-Steel 700-Watt Super JuicerThis juicer (great look; at most average performance) broke after I used it for ~10 times. I needed to replace one part to make it functional again. I was willing to pay for it. I contacted the store I bought it in and Sharper Image Customer Service several times and each party constantly sent me to the other one. I called, emailed, and wrote to Sharper Image Customer Service and got the same reply all the time. They do not deal with such problems. I tried for 6 months. No success. I came to a simple solution though - the juicer is in the garbage. I will never again buy a product with the Sharper Image logo. Period....

This review is from: Omega J8004 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, WhiteMy wife and I have had this for four months of intense juicing of cabbage and occasionally broccoli. My wife had multiple stomach and duodenal ulcers from medications due to a spinal injury and we combed the internet looking for studies on the best home remedies, as prescription antacids were not healing her. We chanced across two studies on raw cabbage juice healing ulcers in a matter of weeks, so that led me to research juicers. There are four basic types of juicers. In order of general effectiveness (least effective to most effective) on greens, they are as follows:1. Spinning blade/centrifugal ($50-$200)2. Single-gear masticating (like this one) ($200-$350)3. Double-gear masticating ($425-$550)4. Hydraulic press w/shredder ($1,000-$2,500)We were hoping the ulcers would heal quickly and I didn't plan to invest much. In reading the reviews on the spinning blade-type extractors, they seemed a poor choice for leafy greens, but quite good for fruits and other types of vegetables. One additional caveat I found was that juice from such juicers didn't keep that long, apparently due to oxidation and heat friction. My wife grew up with such a juicer and she had always enjoyed it, but she agreed it wouldn't work well for wringing juice from a cabbage.Next came the single-gear juicers, and these varied from steel to melamine construction to a new high-tech super-hard GE plastic. Steel can oxidize fruit juice and melamine is a soft plastic that is most known for appearing in contaminated animal food from China, which in tests artificially appears as protein. Neither of these sounded good, but in reviewing the latest versions of the J8006/J8004 (they are identical except for the color and $40 difference), I found Omega was using GE Ultem, a plastic at least six times harder than melamine for the augur. This was a huge plus to me.The double-gear juicers appear to get about 15% more juice out of the same amount of produce, but take quite a bit more time to clean. They are also twice the cost of single-gear juicers. This wasn't worth it to me.Finally, the hydraulic press juicers get the most juice out, but can cost thousands of dollars. I couldn't find one under $800.Our Experience:I decided to get the J8004 and we went to town using it. It's been used probably 40 times so far for about 45 - 60 minutes each time. I make two quarts of cabbage juice at a time and it's refrigerated, with my wife drinking all of it within two days. At the end of the second day, if it's been kept sealed in the refrigerator, the juice tastes virtually identical to when it was juiced (just shake it up a bit because the juice settles).Directions for the juicer say it shouldn't be used more than 30 minutes at a time. This isn't a problem, as I prepare two plates of cabbage leaves, juice them, turn off the machine, then prepare two more plates of leaves at a time. The Omega leaves some juice in the pulp, which I now recapture by feeding the mash back through the machine. Strangely, the extra passes go very fast compared with the first one with the leaves, basically because the mash goes in the tube with absolutely no friction, and is much less volume to handle. In general, if you are juicing cabbage leaves, this is how each pass juices out if you got 600 milliliters with the first two platefuls:1st time - 600 milliliters2nd time - 150 ml more3rd time - 50 ml more4&5th time - 50 ml more totalYes, the double-gear machines might get more each pass, but I figure that putting cabbage through three times is more than equal to putting the it through twice on a double-gear, and I save $250 for that net of one extra pass. The unit has held up well and has never stained from all the greens touching it, so save forty dollars and get this over the silver J8006 twin (both units are superior to the J8005 because that unit, strangely numbered higher than this, uses a melamine auger and has only a 10 year warranty). The parts all rinse clean in no time, save for the two filtering portions on the cone the augur presses against. These require a brushing motion (one is included) to clean, and even then the part with the fine mesh retains some cabbage fiber. Fortunately, we put the parts in the dishwasher where anything remaining can be blasted off. We've used it to mass-grind coffee with an included grinding option. It grinds a pound of coffee in about three minutes. You can't go wrong with an Omega J8004 if you are juicing greens. We would definitely buy this again, but due to the incredibly long warranty, we don't expect to buy anything for over 15 years!UPDATE: We've now used it more than 60 days on cabbage and broccoli and used it to make wonderful blueberry sorbet (using the second cone unit for grinding). Putting frozen wild blueberries into it makes a sorbet come out the end that if allowed to thaw, is a perfect cold blueberry juice. This summer we have been using it in this capacity far more than for cabbage. WONDERFUL! (NOTE: My wife's ulcers completely healed by the two month point, so we've moved on to other juicing other items.)...This review is from: Omega J8004 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, WhiteLength:: 3:59 MinsVideo review for the Omega 8004 (white version of the 8006)...

Average Customer Review:

This review is from: Black & Decker JUICE EXTRACTOR F930Let me start by stating, unlike the previous reviewer, that I have been an avid juicer for 30 years, so I know juicers and juicing. I have owned a number of juicers, both as accessories for other equipment and dedicated. I currently use a 20+ year old Champion and an excellent Acme (now sold as Waring). Both work very, very well. However, I travel several states in my position as a medical manager and I decided to try juicing on the road. There is no such thing as a 'travel juicer'. Certainly I wouldn't want to try to transport something like my full-time juicers! Therefore, I was looking for a cheap but useful juicer to throw in a piece of luggage for hotel room juicing. Thanks to the web, it is easy to look at various brands and models, and even feedback from buyers. I have bought juicers in the past, including a L'Equip and a Kenwood, that I've ended up giving away because they didn't work for me. I happened to find this inexpensive B/D at Wal-Mart for $29; the alternative was the H-B BigMouth. The H-B was larger. A large part of this was due on inspection to the cutting basket--about half again larger on the H-B. As size was definitely a priority, I purchased this B/D. Upon opening it, I discovered that it indeed is quite light--an advantage for what I wanted. It's all plastic on inspection except the cutting basket--which also makes no difference to anything. The plastic seems of the same quality as any other juicer plastic, save the nylon used on the Champion. As this is a pulp ejector, there is a spout on one side for the juice and a molded plastic container designed to catch the pulp. I was impressed that the juicer will not operate without the pulp receptacle in place. This is probably for safety, but it can also save a heck of a mess if one forgets! My last L'Equip didn't have this feature and one could inadvertently sling a lot of pulp if the container shifted. The plastic parts required for assembly are the same as others of this type: beside the containers on each side, the clear diverting lid, the plastic plunger, and the white underhalf of the diverting lid. That's it. There is a two speed motor. No instructions in the manual are given for this, but low is apparently for pulpy fruit, such as grapes and citrus, with the high speed for carrots, radishes, celery and other veggies. I must admit I've never used the low speed; I don't juice fruit in my juicers. When running on high, the noise level is quite average, no louder than the Acme/Omega centrifugals and higher in pitch than my Champion. It is not offensively loud, certainly not what I am accustomed to hearing in one of my grain mills or even a K'Aid mixer on high. Now to juicing. The biggest possible irritant to the user would be that the feed tube is quite small, shaped like a kidney bean. This is a direct consequence of the very small cutting basket; any larger and the food wouldn't come into contact only with the blades. Carrots of larger diameter on the green end have to be sliced once lengthwise. My favorite radishes, same. Celery, of course, goes through fine, as do leafy greens. Common sense should dictate that one doesn't cram the food into a machine of this size and price like a machine costing 5-10 times as much. I don't do that even with my great big Acme! I quickly found it doesn't require a lot of babying, just drop the produce in, let it start feeding and give a steady feed on through. Absolutely no problems. A tip for easier cleaning: on these pulp ejectors, save your little grocery bags and put one in the pulp catcher container; when through you can just dump the bag unless you're using it for compost. After a few uses the clear diverting part on the top started staining, as did the white plastic parts that the juice contacts. This means nothing, all juicers stain their plastic. If it bothers you, you just wipe the parts with bleach and they look new again! Those of us who juice know to alternate firm produce, such as carrots, celery, radishes, with greens and softer produce to help move the juice along. Works perfectly with this little juicer. We all should know that centrifugal juicers of any price will not extract leafy green juices such as spinach, parsley, wheatgrass, as efficiently as single- or twin-gear masticators. The yield with leafy greens on this little juicer appears to be roughly what I expected, alternated with firm produce. Of course, I can't testify as to the long-term durability of this juicer. It's worked well for dozens of uses for me so far, and has traveled well in my car trunk in a bag. At the price it didn't surprise me that there was no cleaning brush for the cutting basket, but I've always preferred cheap toothbrushes for that. Again, the basket is no easier or harder to clean than any other centrifugal. I haven't dropped any of the parts on the floor but it doesn't look like they would break-plastic is flexible. I have had no leaks at all, no problems with sealing. This juicer has satisfied completely the function for which I purchased it. Would it hold up for years of daily juicing more than once a day? Who knows--probably not as long as a $200-400 machine--but would that be a fair assessment anyway? I know this is a rather long review. Juicing can be misrepresented on those infomercials; it's certainly not hard at all, but there are tricks and techniques the newbie isn't shown. It irritates me that, particularly with less expensive juicers, the reviewers appear to be new or first time users who are excessively judgmental. It's rather like buying a $50 digital camera, then downrating it because it doesn't shoot like a $1000 model. I'd ...

This review is from: Champion Commercial Juicer G5-PG-710 - BLACK MODEL (MAR-48C)Before considering reviews of juicers, the first thing the reader needs to examine is the experience of the reviewer. I've noticed that dozens of these reviews are by those new to juicing, often assessing their first juicer purchase. They then are making arbitrary statements about equipment of which they know little. Rather like assessing a sewing machine, a camera, any piece of technology without sufficient perspective. I began juicing back in the 70's when I became vegetarian. At that time juicers were not considered fashionable as now, and certainly there were no infomercials or cable! There was a fairly inexpensive line of centrifugal juicers made by Braun, Krups, Oster, etc. There was the Norwalk, still the Rolls-Royce of juicers (at $2000+). There was the excellent Acme centrifugal (now sold as Omega). And there was the Champion, then selling for $250-300. After chopping through a nice little Braun in a year or so I spent hard-earned college earnings on a Champion; they only came in white then. Much of of the hoopla about oxidation of juice hadn't come up yet. We had no health food stores in Texas that I knew about that carried the Champion, so I ordered mine over the phone. I was shocked when it arrived at the weight. This is no lightweight! Unlike the department store juicers, it has a very large motor, a GE, with tons of torque. This is because this is a masticating juicer with a slow-turning cutting cone. Without the cone assembly on the front it is actually not large at all. The 'plastic' parts on the Champion were/are nylon rather than just molded plastic. This means they are also quite flexible and are of course shatterproof. The cutting cone is quite different than other machines, being a solid piece of nylon on a large metal cutting shaft. The 'blades' are not sharp as on a centrifugal juicer; one can run one's fingers over them without cutting oneself. Why? Because their purpose is not to cut alone; they force the food around the cone inside the outside housing, then over a curved screen at the bottom where the brushing motion and pressure mash the juice out of the produce. The cone has an indentation that spits the pulp out the front of the cone assembly. Again, this is not the same as a single-auger juicer where the auger forces the food against a screen at the front. I won't say which is better, they're just different. However, unlike single-auger machines like a Samson or Omega 2005, it is not self-feeding. There is a supplied pusher; if you look down in the feeding area you can see that the cone turns while you apply pressure on the food, to grind off bits of the produce to send over the juicing screen. It is NOT pressureless, but you don't have to put your weight on it to get it to feed, either. Judging from what I've seen of twin-gear machines on YouTube and a couple of friends, the pressure required is nothing like trying to force produce through those. There's one bodybuilder on YouTube who demonstrates putting his twin gear on the floor so he can put his weight into it! A child can easily operate the Champion's required force. Assembly of the Champion is extremely easy. I suppose it sounds quaint now, but one needs to keep a little Crisco container and put a dollop on the motor output shaft prior to juicing. This is a metal-to-metal contact when the juicing cone is put on and simply helps separate the cone when finished. I guess one could use Pam or some spray but I've never had a problem with keeping a little Crisco can for that, and only a very small amount is required. Slide the cone on, put the juicing screen in its recessed holder on the nozzle container holding the cone, a short twist and you're ready. The Champion amazed me then, and still amazes me at the simplicity and durability of its design. Not a bunch of little plastic parts to keep up with. As the parts are nylon, they won't break if dropped. They don't crack, they don't deform. They just work. At the end of juicing, just twist the cone exterior a few degrees and it's off. Reach over and pull off the cutting cone. That's it. Take the juicing screen out and scrub it just like any other juicer, except this one is only a little curved screen and very easy to brush w/o any weird crevices. Wash the cone assembly clean, wash the cutting cone, and you're done. I've always owned dishwashers but have never seen the need to run any of this through. Juice pulp is not baked-on spaghetti sauce; it rinses right off, so why dishwash it? These new Champions come in colors; the light colors will certainly stain with carrot and beet juice, as in any other juicer. If it bothers you, just wipe the affected parts with a little bleach and you are back like new. The motor housing is powdercoated paint. Those who know juicing know that to juice greens they should be alternated with firm produce like carrots, celery, radishes, apples, etc. This aids the juicer in pushing the greens through. This applies to any juicer I've ever seen, including the Norwalk. Don't expect to run pounds of spinach, etc., through without a 'cleaning' carrot every so often. Most of us don't juice just greens anyway. Once again, a little common sense and knowledge. Since this is a masticating juicer ...

Samson "Advanced" Multi-Purpose Wheatgrass Juicer - IVORY

This review is from: Samson \"Advanced\" Multi-Purpose Wheatgrass Juicer - IVORYI have been the proud owner of this juicer for the past two months and so far I can say it has been a joy to use this machine to make fresh fruit and vegetable juices, as well as, frozen fruit sorbets, nut butters and cold pressed oils (oil extractor unit is not included). There is no one size fits all juicer, but this juicer fits the bill for me, in that, I primarily use it for leafy greens and citrus fruits. I tend to get a higher yield when juicing cucumbers in my centrifugal juicer, however, since juice quality is of more importance to me than juice yield, I do not see that as a draw back. With a little improvisation and plenty patience, I am also able to make fresh cane juice in this wonder machine. If you really want to take your health to the next level I highly recommend juicing, and after doing considerable research I have found that this juicer is one of the best and most versatile on the market....

This review is from: Breville BJB840XL Juice and BlendNewbie juicer here but our blender just kicked the bucket so I wanted to get something that could do both and last me a while ... and look good on the countertop too. The Juice n Blend is definitely a beast .. we've had it for a little over a month and it has been used just about every single day since it got here. Assembly and disassembly is super quick and it churns out juice very very fast .. it's been a top priority for my wife and I to begin adding more servings of vegetables and fruits in our diet and this has been a tasty way to do just that. The unit has worked remarkably well for juicing and the blender is simply a step above any of the blenders I've previously owned. It's solid and does a fantastic job .. and again .. cleanup is a breeze.Highly recommend for those looking to fill both those roles in one unit....This review is from: Breville BJB840XL Juice and BlendMy husband and I watched the documentary Fat Sick and Nearly Dead and decided we were ready to make changes. I had been eyeing another Breville juicer way before seeing the doc, but after we decided we were going to go for it I started to do some serious research on machines and models. Beginning on the Breville site, we watched videos of the different models in action, then read reviews across the web and finally decided on the Juice and Blend. Convincing my husband to pay extra for the blender was not easy but our house is on it's third stand alone blender this year, and our current one was on it's last legs when we were shopping for the juicer. We realized that by getting the J&B we would have two quality machines in one. I make smoothies regularly for my kids, that way I know that even if they don't/won't eat the best breakfasts that they've all had a greek yoghurt and fresh fruit smoothie to get them started in the morning. When the Breville arrived we were EXCITED!!! We started our juicing immediately!! Kale, carrots, beets, spinach, watercress, peppers, sweet potato, celery, cucumbers etc etc etc. AWESOME!! The machine was easy to use and easy to clean--thanks to the nylon brush included by Breville. Juicing for the two of us I had to remember to empty the pulp container several times so that the vegetable flakes did not back up into the juicer. The blender is as powerful as the juicer. Quality parts throughout. I just completed a 15 day juice fast, joined the online reboot community and lost 20lbs. My hands and feet stopped swelling in the night and overall I feel really great! My husband did the juice fast for 28 days, lost 40lbs and the most significant difference for me is that he no longer snores. We have fresh grapefruit and orange juice to start our mornings, and the kids now prefer real fresh juice smoothies without the yoghurt. The machine is a monster and worth every penny. It was and is a great investment for a healthier lfe!If you found this review helpful, please let me know....This review is from: Breville BJB840XL Juice and BlendI started looking last summer for a juicer. Connected with the Liferegenerator (AKA-Dan Mcdonald) who sported one of these himself. I researched much and come to find out that the breville is an excellent machine. Very powerful and the performance it gives is amazing. The investiment is well worth the results it produces. The pulp is very flakey and dry, hardly any wasted juice, in pulp. The amount of juice that I have gotten from one apple or orange itself is impressive-it takes every ounce out of it, it seems. The blender is outstanding itself. That is just a huge plus. You will be very pleased with this machine, the cleanup is just rinsing it out! It comes with a scrub brush as well. Heavy duty in power, size and getting the job done. It's a big boy! I purchased from Amazon cause it was $41.00 cheaper with free shipping, VS. [...]. but you can go to their webpage and see the vids on its preformance....

Super Angel 5500 Stainless Steel Juicer | On Sale!

This review is from: Super Angel 5500 Stainless Steel Juicer | On Sale!I've been using the Green Star Juicer for the past seven years, and although I love it's ability to juice leafy greens, the Angel Juicer is even more powerful juicing greens and the harder vegetables. I purchased the Angel due to the higher juice yield shown on video clips, and it is no joke! I could run pulp through the Green Star three times and the pulp still won't be as dry as with the Angel. No wonder the pulp container that comes with the Angel Juicer is so small! And a great surprise I found with the Angel is the very low foam content in the juice. Anyone who uses the Green Star can affirm that at least a quarter of juice from leafy greens will be foam. Not so with the Angel. I've always had less than 1/4" of foam with the Angel Juicer. These two reasons are enough to consider spending twice as much on a juicer. If you are serious enough to spend $500.00 on a Green Star, then you should be serious enough to save for the Angel. Other pros are there are less parts to clean and the stainless steel always looks great. I hear the major complaint is the clean-up time. It takes less than three minutes if you wash the parts immediately after juicing. The brush that comes with the unit is necessary to clean the screen, but even cleaning just the screen takes less than a minute, if you scrub it under running water. It's no more time consuming than cleaning the screen of any other juicer. A couple of small disadvantages are the control buttons are on only one side, there is no handle to carry the unit, and if there is no container under the spout while pushing hard vegetables through, the unit may tip forward. This is because it has no legs that extend in front of the unit to stabilize it. However, this is not as much an issue as with the Green Star, because the Angel is more powerful and will juice hard vegetables with less effort. While juicing with the Green Star was tolerable, juicing with the Angel is actually a pleasure!...This review is from: Super Angel 5500 Stainless Steel Juicer | On Sale!If you have already been through a number of wheat grass juicers, you might be forgiven for thinking that, based on the performance out there, MAN WAS NOT MEANT to juice grass at all, and all the various juicer makers are sent by a HIGHER POWER TO PUNISH US FOR OUR HUBRIS. As a 3-time Hippocretes grad, I was looking for a daily juicer but kept coming up Snake-Eyes. The "recommended" manual (no motor) juicer from Hippocretes actually damaged my hand. My next purchase was the Samson, based on the reviews. What did I learn? You can't trust reviews. In 6 months I wore out or cracked every single plastic part on that Piece of Junk. Here is a tip -- when you know the first name of the guy on the other end of the support line, that's a BAD THING. The only part left with an unblemished record was the motor, and when the bearings finally failed there too, I decided it was time to find a new juicer. I next borrowed a Green Power Twin Gear from a friend. This was a giant step forward, but too much foam (about 25% by yield) and very very hard to clean. The 5500 was my last kick at the can but MY GOSH I am growing ever fond of this unit each day. Yield is fantastic, even with about 10% foam, it still outperforms. Much easier to clean than the reviews say although you do have to be nimble. Removing the anteater nozzle after juicing takes considerable heft and dexterity but, if you can master that, this is the best machine so far....

This review is from: Jack Lalanne\'s Stainless Steel Power Juicer Deluxeseems to be extreme reviews- with love or hate. I've used mine for over a year: almost everyday. recently 2-3 times a day juicing apples, carrots, celery, cucumber, beets, spinach with good results. A few times I used soft produce and the pulp stuck unevenly to the blade making it shake, but never any problems with fresh produce. Also, it doesn't do good if you try to jamb on the pusher too hard/fast.I like this machine as it was inexpensive and easy to clean. use plastic bags in the catcher for a faster clean-up...This review is from: Jack Lalanne\'s Stainless Steel Power Juicer DeluxeThis is much cheaper here then in the store. It doesn't get stuck at all like some have stated. I juice everyday....it does take time but I feel so much better. Thank you for selling this product here and for the price. This review is from: NEW 2009 Soy, Almond and Rice Milk Maker - SoyQuick Premier Milk Maker 930P (6 Machines)"I LOVE my new SoyQuick Premier Milk Make 930P!! The name "SOYQUICK" says it all. This machine is quick and wow, the milk is delicious. It does not compare to the commercial milk I was buying. I am blown away and highly recommend it!! My Kids love the nut milk that I make for them for hot chocolate and I use the soymilk in their cereal for breakfast. I am really happy to be able to make so many different types of healthy milks. One of the extra pluses for me is that I have made a "Green" choice by not having to buy tetra-pak milk anymore. For our family this appliance was a perfect fit."...This review is from: NEW 2009 Soy, Almond and Rice Milk Maker - SoyQuick Premier Milk Maker 930P (6 Machines)I have had my soymilk maker for a couple of weeks and it really is wonderful! It is easy to use, clean up is a piece of cake and I absolutely love the way the soymilk taste. The flavor of soymilk I got from my first batch really has me excited to try more. I can't wait to experiment with all of the different recipes in the book that came with my machine. I am so happy that I can finally make milk that has no additives. 100% pure milk! I would also like to point out that the milk tastes great right to the last drop. I actually drink if before it even has a chance to go bad. The milk I used to buy from the store would go bad before the expiry date and there is nothing more frustrating and awful tasting than sour soymilk (my stomach turns just thinking about it). This has really solved that problem for me. If I had known that great tasting soymilk was this easy to make, I would have jumped on the SoyQuick bandwagon a long time ago. All I can say is . . . I love it and highly recommend it! If there was a Siskel and Ebert of soymilk makers they would give this machine two thumbs up!...
