Black and Decker 1.25-c. Fruit and Vegetable Juice Extractor

This review is from: Black and Decker 1.25-c. Fruit and Vegetable Juice ExtractorI got this juicer as a gift. It will liquidize any fruit and vegetable. The only drawback is that the pulp still contain juice and had to scoop up the pulp and run it through the machine again only to spit out in the reservoir again. Also cleaning the blade and especially the screen is time consuming....

This review is from: Sensio Bella (15210) Kitchen Juice Extractor Juicer StainlessWhen I bout it I loved it, after 2 or 3 weeks started having trouble taking the stainless basket out to clean unit. Last time I used it took over 30 min. to finally get it apart. Washed good sat back on counter. Next day tried to take apart BEFORE I used it just to see if it was removing easier. The stainless basket wouldn't budge. Messed with it off an on all day, it never came apart. Now it lives on a shelf in the garage. Needs to go in garbage but I still remember what I paid for it ;(...This review is from: Sensio Bella (15210) Kitchen Juice Extractor Juicer StainlessI bought this juicer on-sale from a local kitchen gadget store for $29 (Originally $69). I figured for that price I couldn't go wrong it would either work great and I would be getting a steal or it would be garbage and I could feel OK if I had to throw it away and buy one of the bigger, more expensive models.I have not owned another juicer before so these are my first experiences with such a product. So far, this juicer has not disappointed. Everything I have thrown at it has been handled with ease. Assembly? Easy, there are like 5 parts (bowl, blade, shield, pulp bucket, and plunger) and they go together within about a minute so you can start juicing right from the box. I went on a fruits and vegtables shopping extravaganza and bought everything I could find except what the manual told me not to juice (a very small list of items). Everything I have put in there has done very well, with a few exceptions. Leafy greens (kale, swiss chard, etc) do not yield much juice and I think this is common for most juicers. Some very watery items (watermelon) put a lot of juice into the pulp bin. An easy solution to this is to put a piece of cheesecloth hanging in the bin a little and it will catch the pulp and you can pour the juice out of the bin. Other than these minor items it has been flawless. The size of the feed tube is adequate. It allows me to put in whole very small apples, or quarters of jumbo apples. Most thing like carrots, celery, cucumbers, and other long items just drop right in no cutting required.Overall this juicer has exceeded my expectations by far. I would recomend it to anyone just starting to juice. Even at a higher price I feel this machine is worth it. I have been using it multiple times a day for a few weeks now with no problems whatsoever....

Nesco American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender, White with Green Trim

This review is from: Nesco American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender, White with Green TrimCustomer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

Length:: 4:51 MinsThis Nesco 2-in-1 Juicer Blender offers an inexpensive way to enter into the world of juicing for health without breaking the bank. But you may want to invest in a better quality unit since this unit seems very cheesy in construction and performance is lacking in key areas. On the plus side, having a blender easily accessible while juicing is important since there are certain "dry" fruits and vegetables that don't juice well, like strawberries, avocados and bananas. When making a juice drink you can easily use the blender in addition to the juicer to make a smoothie that lets you incorporate the -non-juicer friendly drier fruits and vegetables. The 50oz Blender container is glass and quite heavy. The blade assembly does not detach which makes cleaning the blender a dicey affair. The juicer base and juicer components are plastic and feel insubstantial. I was surprised at how light the base unit was. I have had other blenders that have quite heavy electric motors in them. The lightness of this base/motor makes me feel that the unit is not going to survive hard use. Another caveat is that the User Guide states that the unit should not be operated continuously for more than 3 minutes, with a 30 second cool-down period in between. The motor unit (base) has two speeds in addition to a pulse mode. The knob that controls the speed/pulse settings is not very easy to turn, particularly in Pulse mode. The base unit has suction cups on the feet to help secure it to your counter and prevent it from sliding while in use.The blender and juicer each attach to the base by means of plastic clamps, one on either side. The clamps are not very substantial. I can see these breaking very easily if mishandled in any way. Switching the blender to juicer or juicer to blender is a fairly simple process that takes just a moment.Cleaning the juicer parts is a chore. Pulp collects and sticks to the juice collector and sieve and must be cleaned by hand as none of the parts are dishwasher safe contrary to what the Amazon description states. (see update at end of review)I made a quick concoction of 3 apples plus 1 pear and it was absolutely delicious. The juicer works well with harder fruits and vegetables, like apples, pears, carrots, and not very well at all with soft things like banannas, papaya, or really fibrous things. The sieve shreds the ingredients and acts as a centrifuge to separate the juice and the pulp, although not very effectively. The juice runs out of the juice collector into the collection container while the pulp collects in both the juice collector and pulp collector. I was not impressed with how much very wet pulp remains in the juice collector.I like the idea of being able to juice fresh fruits and vegetables for really healthy and quick drinks but this unit is dismal. The included instruction/recipe book includes a good variety of smoothie, blender and juicer recipes but lacks any real information on juicing in general. One of the main benefits of juicing is that fiber in fruits and vegetables is not easily broken down by the human body and therefore some, if not much, of the nutrients "hidden" in the fibre is never extracted by the body and is lost. That is why juicing is beneficial. It extracts more of the nutrients from fruits and vegetables. Then by utilizing the pulp into other recipes like muffins or smoothies, you still get fiber in your diet along with the nutrient dense juice.Pros: Convenient way to have a blender and juicer in a single device.Easy to switch components.Cons:Except for the glass blender, everything else is plastic and feels unsubstantial. The latches in particular seem very fragile and prone to breaking.Components are not dishwasher safe. Must be washed by hand.Cannot operate continuously for more than 3-minutes at a time.Cleaning is a chore.Pulp extraction is not very effective, leaving lots of very wet pulp in juice collector while ejecting very little dry pulp.Blades assembly does not detach from blender making cleaning it difficult.Instruction/Recipe book could be more helpful in explaining how to incorporate juicing into your lifestyle by having more relevant information about juicing. For instance a perfectly valid question would be what to do with all the pulp that is created. Seems a waste to just throw it away , and in fact it is a waste. But you won't learn anything about that in the instruction/recipe book.UPDATE 4/28/2011: The Amazon Description states that the parts, other than the base unit, are dishwasher safe, however the User Guide clearly states several times about washing the parts and says: "wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry." Nowhere in the User Guide does it state that parts are dishwasher safe. Nor do the parts themselves have any indication that they are dishwasher safe. Furthermore I called NESCO and was told that unless it is explicitly stated that parts are dishwasher safe, assume they are NOT dishwasher safe....This review is from: Nesco American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender, White with Green TrimCustomer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

Bottom line: If you're serious about juicing, give this a pass. But, for light-duty use it has some merit provided that you can live with a couple of design shortcomings. As you can probably surmise from the price point, this is not a "throw anything in it and have it come out juice" type of appliance. It works best on the softer, juicier fruits/veggies. Yes, it will turn hard items like carrots into juice, but there's a lot wasted - the pulp that comes out is very wet, whereas in a higher-end juicer wi...

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 67800H Juice ExtractorI just bought this juicer and now I'm on my way to return it. I find that it wastes way too much produce, and the juice that is produced is thick and foamy. If you want real juice, don't waste your money here......This review is from: Hamilton Beach 67800H Juice ExtractorDon't buy this, don't buy this, dooooooon't buuuyyyy this!!! o_oThis is the first juicer I purchased ever, so when I found all the juice leaking out everywhere, all the fruit being wasted, and the iddy biddy amount of juice that I made after 2-3 hours of juicing, I thought that maybe all juicers sucked. But no, luckily, it's just this one, and yes, it DOES suck. badly.I made about 2 glasses of juice from about 10 pounds of fruit. the juice from the juicer just happened to leak out and fall into the cup, the rest of the juice that should have went into the cup was leaking and oozing out of the top of the pul container. This was also very difficult to clean and terribly noisy....

Superior Performance - Powerful 400-watt motor quickly turns your favorite fruits and vegetables in

Ultimate Convenience - The one-handed operation and food tray make it easy to create fresh, nutriti

Cleaning Made Simple - Dishwasher-safe, removable parts disassemble easily for cleaning

This review is from: Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric JuicerOk, I actually bought this juicer before I read the reviews for this one (Power Juicer Pro) and the other J.LaLanne juicers (Power Juicer, Power Juicer Deluxe). I had wanted one for at least 15 years and put if off due to the cost. So now I have one, and I love it! Like I wrote, I read the reviews after I paid for it already. But alot of the negative reviews were so terribly written and most of the people couldn't even spell - I mean like the word "vegetable"! So I dismissed most of them as uninformed or lacking. And sure enough! If you read the owner's booklet, and use the product properly, you will not have any problems with it. Here are my responses to some of the problems listed by other reviews (this includes all J.LaLanne Power Juicer models):"Strainer is plastic on the 'Pro'" - No, it isn't. Maybe it used to be when this review was written (?). "I made 2 quarts of juice, then my juicer started leaking out the sides" - uhm, again if you read the booklet, you should only be making a couple of glasses at a time - one quart max. - then you will need to clean the strainer as the pulp will clog up the strainer and cause juice to back up into the machine. This juicer is not designed to hold liquid. "The motor shaft sheared off when I tightened the blade onto it". The booklet states to be careful when tightening on the blade as this can cause the shaft to shear. This may be a legitimate problem with the product and this shaft ShouLD be metal, not plastic. So far, I have had no problems, and am very careful not to tighten too hard. "I put in radishes and they blew out the pulp chute". The booklet states to follow small items immediately with larger ones to keep this from happening. I have not had a problem with small items such as radishes. "The spout leaks all over the place". Again, I have had no problems with the spout. "It is hard to clean and the little brush they give you does nothing". This product is EXTREMELY easy to clean. The brush works very well on the strainer. A power water sprayer also works wonders. Additional advice is to clean right after juicing, or right after you enjoy your juice. Naturally, if you let the juicer sit uncleaned, the pulp and juice residue will get dry and hard and be difficult to get off. If you clean it right away, it is a breeze and shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to clean the five pieces. This juicer also comes with two juice recipe books and one juice and pulp recipe book (muffins, soups, and such)....This review is from: Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric JuicerI'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. They really sound like they have not read the instruction manual. Of course if you don't use it properly you will have problems. I read it all and use it according to the instructions and tips and tricks and it seems to work just fine. I get tasty juice, the motor is nice and quiet, and the unit is easy to disassemble and clean.Plastic screen? Mine has a stainless steel screen, not plastic. I think the less expensive models have plastic screens. Are you sure you're reviewing the right model? This is my first juicer so I really can't comment on how it works compared to other juicers. But I'm happy with it so far....This review is from: Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric JuicerI purchased this Juicer from Target. I have put off buying a juicer for years. Just watched the documentary the "Beautiful Truth" that features the "juice man" and it kinda spurred me on to purchase a juicer. The unit works as advertised and is whisper quiet. The construction is great (stainless steel) and clean up is a snap. Would highly recommend....

Green Power Juicer - Model KPE 1304 - 10 Yr. Warranty

This review is from: Green Power Juicer - Model KPE 1304 - 10 Yr. WarrantyI have owned several juicers over the years including Acme, Champion, and Juiceman II. Since the latter was what I replaced with the Green Power I will use it to make my comparison. The Juiceman is a good middle of the road juicer but we decided to upgrade when my wife became ill. We wanted one that could juice wheatgrass, and provided a better quality juice than the Juiceman. After researching we went with the Green Power.Pro: the Green Power does provide a better quality juice. The pulp is much drier, the juice keeps longer, and it does a pretty fair job with wheatgrass. The Juiceman produces a wetter pulp and will not juice wheatgrass.Con: not easy to clean. The Juiceman takes about two minutes and you're done, the Green power has more parts, smaller screens and just takes longer. Also, the juicer itself needs to be cleaned where the twin screws attach. Complicated. If you want carrot apple juice you have to replace screens in the middle of juicing. The Juiceman juices fruits and vegetables without the need to change screens. The Green Power requires taking off the vegetable screen and replacing it with a fruit screen. This is messy and time consuming, plus it doesn't do a great job with fruit. Pulpy. The Green Power juice is very pulpy no matter how much you tighten down the pulp adjustor. A strainer is advised. One other issue I have with the Green Power is it occasionally will spurt juice and pulp up through the feeder tube if you are juicing wet vegetables like cucumbers. So the juicer and counter have a nice coating of juice and pulp. Having said all this, the quality of the juice may well overide all these other issues and I may find some of them are correctable over time (I've been using the Green Power for a couple of months)....This review is from: Green Power Juicer - Model KPE 1304 - 10 Yr. WarrantyI've owned my Green Power KPE 1304 Juicer for over 18 months now. Our family juices 3-4 times a week and we like to think of ourselves as seasoned pro's.We juice wheatgrass on a regular basis and found that the machine works flawlessly making pretty much all juices. Our family is very health conscience and wanted a juicer that would make our favorite juices, be easy to clean and last a couple days before going bad, that is if we don't drink it all that same day.I researched many different juicers including the Green Star and the Green Power Gold and learned that these models where a much older design from the mid 90's which has not been updated and had a few drawbacks. The Green Power 1304 is the latest design and I am telling you this because I was initially completely confused as Tribest tried to tell me that the Green Star and Green Power Gold where the latest and best models available which was completely untrue. I contacted Kitchen's Best customer service and kept the kind lady on the phone with all of my silly questions for well over half an hour. I really appreciated the time that she spent with me. I really do not like to be "sold" over the phone and I clearly felt that she just wanted to help me find the right juicer. She e-mailed me the Green Power history chart which clearly showed the evolution of the Green Power/Green Star Juicers which was very helpful. Our family totally loves the juicer! The kids enjoy having fun creating different juices and clean up is fairly easy if you clean it right away. I highly recommend the juicer and the company's customer service is always fantastic. I have now purchased multiple times from this company and it has been a great experience. If you are looking to make soy, nut and rice milk I also recommend the NEW 2009 Soymilk Maker - SoyQuick Premier Milk Maker 930P My best purchase this year....This review is from: Green Power Juicer - Model KPE 1304 - 10 Yr. WarrantyI upgraded from a low end centrifugal juicer and I'm very satisfied. Easy to operate and I was surprised to see that it works better with bigger veggie/fruit pieces so much less time chopping! To clean it I soak the parts in warm soapy water while I drink my juice and then scrub them with the included multi-brush, not much more difficult than the centrifugal. One unexpected mechanical quirk - the manual recommends allowing the motor to cool for ~5 minutes after ~25 minutes of juicing, the unit does slightly warm up during operation. I love it regardless and the juice tastes great!...

This review is from: Oster 3157 400-Watt Single-Speed Juice ExtractorI was looking for a small, inexpensive juicer today that I can use for a couple of months while I'm away from home and found the Oster juicer at my local store. I'd never heard of the brand before but at under $50 it seemed like a bargain. So I grabbed a bag of veggies and dashed back to give it a whirl. The mouth where you push the veggies through is a decent size but you will need to slice most veggies at least once before you can fit them in. No big deal, takes about 2 minutes to do the whole lot. The motor is really strong and had no trouble chewing through carrots and beets. It has a decent size pulp catcher that's quick and easy to take off when you need to empty it. I also like the fact that there is not a huge amount of space between the blade and the plastic thing that's used to push the veggies/fruit down, so small bits don't get stuck in the gap like some previous brands I've used. There's not much bad I can say about it, given the size and price. If you're a big time juicer and will use a machine daily you might want to get a larger capacity juicer or one that can fit whole fruits and veg in. If you're new to juicing, will only use it once or twice a week or don't want to fork out for pro juicer then I'd definitely consider this, you really can't go wrong....This review is from: Oster 3157 400-Watt Single-Speed Juice ExtractorI got this juicer about a month now, could'nt wa from it to start juicing as soon as it was delivered. This is one powerful little juicer, i juice everything from beets, apples, pears, grapes, celery, etc. it has change my life for the better, I now go more often to the bathroom,my skin looks better and i no longer dring the garbage called juice from the store. Its strong , durable, sterdy and those fruits like nobodys business. love it, go ahead and get it ,it will do your body good....This review is from: Oster 3157 400-Watt Single-Speed Juice ExtractorThis was advertised as a "starter juicer" for newbies, which is just right for me. Given to me as a gift. First day of use was alot of fun, trying various fruits & veggies. Second day of use it wouldn't start until did some deep cleaning of the base, which was stuck. Third day of use it was dead. Buy.com's policy is <30 days to return and I'm at 42 days since purchased, so have to see how cooperative they will be. I wouldn't exchange it, but would upgrade to another unit. The Oster 400W seemed to generate an awful lot of wasted juice and pulp. Would think higher quality units would produce more juice and less waste. Would not buy again....

Waring Health Juice Extractors

This review is from: Waring Health Juice ExtractorsSometimes you have to learn the hard way. First - this thing doesn't juice all that efficiently. Wanna find that out for real? Go buy a GOOD juicer, and use it. This thing starts looking like a massive waste of time and money the moment you try a better juicer.Next - think this is a good price? Think again. The lid on the pulp container is stupidly designed with an easily broken protrusion on the bottom right which acts as a safety - the juicer will not turn on unless the lid is on. Of course, when that protrusion breaks, it won't turn on then either. Replacements are $12 or so, plus shipping. Note that I got mine from an Amazon Store called "Small Appliance". Don't get me started. They suck beyond all human comprehension, but at least they called me a week after I'd already bought a better product. Hey: They may not be good, but they sure are slow! The replacements do not fit. So you get an RMA and ship the replacement back (your dime) and get another replacement...That does not fit. How the heck did this happen? Waring only has one part like this anywhere, ever, and it doesn't fit? So I get a lot of shipping charges to return the ill-fitting cover, and by now I have spent enough to buy a better product in the first place.TL;DR: Don't. Spend a little more. You'll be happier, it'll waste less, and it'll last longer....This review is from: Waring Health Juice ExtractorsI have owned a JEX328 since it was gifted to me in 2004. The juicer looks very nice and elegant with brushed stainless steel. Most of our other kitchen appliacnes are stainless steel and this goes well with them. The juicer itself does a great job on hard fruits and veges like carrots. I initially tried to use the leftover from the juicing in things like soups or cakes but the leftover from hard fruits was so dry, it was no use to me. THe juicer does well with fruits like apples and pears but the refuse is somewhat wet suggesting jiucing performance is good but not fantastic. Softer fruits such as oranges and grapes dont do too well. Oranges, particularly, dont get the best juice in this type of centifugal juicer because the white stuff on the outside of the oranges gets juiced too and changes the taste.Customer Service. I may not have had better customer serice ever in my life. After using the juicer for five years, something at the bottom of the refuse collector snapped (there is a tiny white tab that locks in place when correctly assembled. If that tab breaks, the juicer will not work). Initially I didn't know what caused the juicer to stop working and opened it up to see if there is fuse. After not finding it, I called Waring and spoke to a Teri in tech customer support. I was hoping to find out where the fuse is. Teri was very nice on the phone and told me there is no traditional fuse but to solve my problem, she will send me a new refuse collector free of charge (did not even charge me S&H). When the prodcut arrived, it did not fit perfectly so I called her back. Apparently the company changed their contract manufactuer a few years ago and I had an old one that had changed. She arranged for UPS to pick up the product she had previously sent me and get this - SHE SENT ME A WHOLE NEW JUICER, again for free. Are you kidding me?? Thats wild. I could not believe it. I know they are quite unlikely to do that often, but their attitude to solving the problem was fantastic. I thanked her and few days later received a whole new juicer that I am very happy with.Cleaning. Cleaning is quite easy and everything goes in the dishwasher. The mesh filter is the only thing that does not get washed too well in dishwasher.Improvement. If there is one thing I would improve, it would be the size of the feeding chute, shich is manageable but competitors have larger feeding chutes.Overall - Fantastic value. For what you have to pay for this, it does a fantastic job and looks great too. Of course, the customer service is bar none....

This review is from: Samson 6 in 1 Electric Wheatgrass JuicerI did some research on net before deciding on the samson. PRIMARILY LOOKING FOR HIGH YIELD AND EASY CLEANING - great on both counts - Juices wheatgrass great. Juices greens like kale, collard greens, cabbage with ease, Mix an apple with the greens - goes down easier. Juice from veggies and fruits taste so pure in your mouth - feels like life is being pumped into my system. of course for me it's all organic - otherwise, I get the pesticides - concentrated. Customer service from Kitchen's Best Manufacturing (Holly and Ashley ) was supberb. They offer a 90 day money back guarantee. They listened and answered all my questions with enthusiasum. They gave me tips on how to better juice and achieve a higher yield. You just don't get that kind of service anymore. Paid 229.00 including shipping and no tax. Acme 6001 Juicer - Juicerator Household Centrifugal Juicer

This review is from: Acme 6001 Juicer - Juicerator Household Centrifugal JuicerAcme juicers are made by Waring now as they have been for the past twenty years or so. One can buy the identical juicer as the Waring Commercial, so price shopping may prove fruitful. I'll state that I've used Acme juicers for 30 years and the one I own now I've had for a number of years. The design hasn't changed, though, and my juicer uses the same supplies and parts. Though the Acme appears quite similar to the Omega 1000/9000 series, there is one important design difference. If you look at the photo of the Acme you will see there are no moving arms on either side to hold the lid down. Apparently these arms are an Achilles' heel for Omega owners, breaking over time. The Acme uses no arms. The lid is placed on top of the bowl, then a short twist locks the lid to the side arms. No hanging, moving parts to break, and it's extremely quick and easy and secure. I'm sure when the guys breaking away from Acme decided to essentially copy the Acme design they couldn't take this with them, so they went with breakable arms. I can only say that after thousands of openings and closings with my Acme, the lid is as secure and workable as it was when new. As can be seen, this isn't one of the so-popular pulp ejectors with the slanted slotted basket to throw pulp out. Upon opening the lid and looking inside, the sheer size of the straight-sided pulp catcher is impressive after looking at so many little slanted baskets. The pulp catcher is large enough to easily accommodate my man's hand for cleaning. And, of course, the outer stainless steel container is even larger. Because those of us who do serious juicing know that periodically the cutting blades will dull and need replacement, the cutting blades are on a very heavy stainless weighted disc, separate. At this time the cost is around $30 to replace this heavy cutting disc; full-sized Omegas and Acmes use the same disc. And, of course, the big juice bar commercial juicers also feature replaceable cutting discs. There is a large threaded shaft coming up from the motor in the middle. A large, easily-handled knob with built-in spring clutch threads on the shaft after dropping the heavy cutting disc on the shaft. Alignment of the cutting disc is automatic, no fiddling required. Total assembly of the stainless steel basket, outer container, cutting disc and lid is extremely easy and fast compared to so many newer generation juicers. Just a classic design that truly hasn't been improved. This is a massive and heavy appliance and it sets on a dozen or so rubber feet; in years I've never known the thing to walk an inch. These big rubber feet (some are visible in the photo) dampen vibration perfectly. Upon turning the machine on, the noise level is quite low compared to so many juicers, rather a low, whooshing noise. The basket spins at 60rpm/second. This may not be as fast as some machines, but one must remember the large diameter of the pulp basket. It gains speed quickly in a few seconds is at operating speed. I'm not going to jam produce into any juicer like some of those idiots on infomercials, and this juicer easily takes care of firm vegetables. The best method for leafy greens is to roll them up into a roll or a ball to give sufficient firmness for the cutting disc. No, this juicer doesn't extract the same amount of juice for leafy greens. Buy a masticator if you want primarily those. After use, it does take a half minute or so for the basket to slowly return to idle. I will say this juicer will easily produce a couple of 16-ounce glasses of carrot/beet/celery type juice before requiring cleaning of the pulp container. And boy, is it dry! Can't squeeze a drop out. I keep reading how much harder this basket is to clean than pulp ejectors. Not in my opinion. Because of its great size, I can easily reach inside. Not only that, because it isn't slanted on the circumference, pulp somehow doesn't get a grip. I never have to use a brush on this basket, just running water and my hand. I know this review is long, but there isn't a lot of publicity about a juicer that was one of the bedrocks of juicing, and still should be. Unlike so many of these little foreign-made machines selling like hotcakes now, this juicer will be around for your grandchildren--and parts are still completely available. Hope this helps those considering--and compare the lid lock with Omega!...This review is from: Acme 6001 Juicer - Juicerator Household Centrifugal JuicerThe 6001 makes fantastic quality juice, without the pulp. I can't stand much pulp, nor can I stand fruits & veggies in general. It can make about 16-24 oz of juice before you have to change the filter. The filters are not 100% mandatory, but if you don't use them, your cleanup time triples easily. So use them.I have a routine in the morning where I can assemble, juice, and clean in about 18-20 minutes. That gives me about 16oz or so of the best quality juice you can imagine.Keep in mind - filters make easy cleanup, keep your fruit/veggies in the fridge overnight before juicing (keeps the blade temp down which prevents the death of the good stuff in your produce before you drink it), and cleanup should happen pretty much right after you juice, or it gets harder to clean. The 5001 has some plastic, and I prefer all stainless-steel, so that is why I got the 6001. No stains long term with the all stainless product. If you hate eating your fruits & vegetables, then this product is probably one of the best ways to get essential living nutrients in 20 minutes per day....This review is from: Acme 6001 Juicer - Juicerator Household Centrifugal JuicerThis juicer does a wonderful job separating juice from pulp! It will quickly and efficiently juice carrots, radishes, beets, pineapple, apple, strawberries, kiwi, celery, etc.Pros: Quickly turns fruit and veggies into juice, relatively quie...

Hamilton Beach Health Smart Juicer

This review is from: Hamilton Beach Health Smart JuicerI brought this on my self. I knew I shouldn't have bought this juicer, but the price was good and I was curious about how it would work (since no one on any of the sites I went on rated this), plus I am a first time juicer. Well, the first time I used it, the "juice" was a little thick, so of course I thought I did something wrong (maybe I should've added the orange last?). I juiced again tonight, and as the apple was coming out, there was no juice, but a thick white goop, the carrots came out okay. Again, the end product was a thick drink. Not impressed. The chute size is so-so, and it sounds like a hand vac. I didn't think there'd be that much negative things to say about this machine, but low and behold! Why are there any stars at all?? Reasons: it introduced me to juicing (gotta start somewhere, might as well be the bottom goin' up!), it wasn't that hard to wash, and the machine was not stained after putting carrots through.p.s. I'm keeping it b/c I despise having to wait in line to return anything, and this time of year is havoc (a week b/4 Xmas!)!...

This review is from: Juiceman JM400 Juiceman Jr. 2-Speed Electric JuicerBack in the day I had the old Juiceman Jr., which did it's job. Well it gave out a few years ago and cleaning it was a pain. I did miss fresh juice though so I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I tell you what they have done a wonderful job, this is a very nice upgrade from the old design. A lot of refinements throughout the entire appliance. Stronger motor, two speeds, better looking and much easier to clean.I defiantly recommend this and great price....This review is from: Juiceman JM400 Juiceman Jr. 2-Speed Electric JuicerI love this juicer. My mom got a juicer a few months ago and it worked well but I read reviews on the Juiceman JM400 and it seemed like a good one. I've been juicing almost everyday since I received it. I can put as many fruits/veggies in one juice as I want. I just check the filter to make sure it doesn't need to be cleaned. Easy clean up overall. Once you know how all the pieces fit together it's easy to detach, clean and reassemble. I feel so good about all the good juice I'm drinking but even more, my kids love it and it's so good for them. My 7 year old son is not a big fruit and veggie eater but I can give him a juice that has five or six different fruits and he loves it. The Juiceman JM400 has easy clean up, a powerful motor and I love the stainless steel because I read reviews on some of the white juicers and they stained easily. My juicer still looks brand new and no stains. Great product!...

This review is from: Green Power KPE1304 Twin Gear Juicer Wheatgrass, Vegetable & Fruit Juicer - BlackThis is my first juicer, and I'm impressed. Kale, ginger, celery...everything juices easily. And cleanup isn't nearly as bad as I thought it might be, after viewing other juicer reviews. The enclosed brush is very effective. It takes maybe 5 minutes to clean thoroughly. And it looks good on my granite countertop (not too big, mostly shiny black). And the seller got back to me very promptly when I had a question....

Jay Kordich PowerGrind Pro - Power Juicer

This review is from: Jay Kordich PowerGrind Pro - Power JuicerI have been juicing for over 10 years, tried different juicers but this is the best ever! The reason I like it so much is that you can actualy taste the difference in bthe juice it makes, it has a richer consistency. There is never any foam as you get with any other juicer. It took me a while to get the "touch" because it is not like any regular juicer but as soon as I learned I was a 100% convinced.Best Juicer Ever I had Ever Tried and I highly recommend it!...This review is from: Jay Kordich PowerGrind Pro - Power JuicerI've had the Jay Kordich Power Grind Juicer for about a month now and I love it. I was first a bit skeptical about the cost but it is worth EVERY Penny. I've had other juicers and this one by far is the most efficient. The pulp is almost dry! It's got some kind of grinder in it as well as the regular filter. When you fire it up, it sounds like a jet engine. It's also easy to clean just by spraying water on it. Much more easier than my Breville that I'm replacing. It's a bit heavy but very well made....

Black & Decker HJ28 Citrus Handy Juicer

This review is from: Black & Decker HJ28 Citrus Handy JuicerThere are a lot of people who don't necessarily want another large, heavy appliance taking up valuable counter/storage space. Sometimes these same people want fresh-squeezed orange or grapefruit juice to go with their breakfast, but not necessarily every day. This Black and Decker Handy Juicer is made just for the likes of me.It couldn't be simpler - fit the pointy white juice reamer piece on top of the plastic pitcher, on top of the motor base, then press down your halved citrus or pomegranate. It runs (reasonably)quietly and does its job of grinding the juicy pulp down to the peel with only small effort on the part of an actual human arm.If you are impressed with a juicer that looks like a stainless steel rocket ship get Cuisinart's version at about three times the price. If you're a dyed in the wool fanatic juice enthusiast that has to have fresh juice every morning for your family and yourself you might consider investing in something more industrial quality, such as Kitchenaid's juicing attachment that goes with their stand mixer. If you want a manual juicer get the Mighty OJ. But if you just need a glass of freshly extracted citrus now and again, without a lot of storage space, effort or investment, the B&D Handy Juicer can't be beat.-Andrea, aka Merribelle...This review is from: Black & Decker HJ28 Citrus Handy JuicerI used this juicer 1.6 times. I squeezed a total of 49 lemons before it shed a plastic tooth from a plastic gear needed for clockwise rotation. Two lemons later it shed a tooth used for counter clockwise rotation. I unplugged it and tried to use it as a manual juicer for a couple of lemons, but it doesn't work very well in manual mode, so I reluctantly tossed it in the trash.Even when it was new, the juicing mechanism seemed fragile and the tiny motor was too weak, so the squeezing was slow. Plan on two minutes to squeeze a lemon (two halves). But I guess the motor was powerful enough to quickly strip the teeth off the plastic gears. It's a shame, because the plastic bowl and other large plastic parts were very nicely designed and nicely made. If Black & Decker put a beefier drive mechanism in there and charged half again as much, they'd have a nice product. In short, if you only want to juice one citrus fruit, a manual juicer is easier and requires less kitchen storage space. If you want to squeeze more than a few citrus fruits, this juicer won't last very long. I'm not sure there is a good application for a juicer like this. Maybe it would be a good gift for someone you don't really like.I have a monster KitchenAid stand mixer. I'm going to get the juicer attachment for it. With the heavy duty KitchenAid quality, it'll probably juice a brick....This review is from: Black & Decker HJ28 Citrus Handy JuicerI didn't want to spend a lot on a juicer... it's something I use only occasionally. I bought this at Walmart and I'm just so impressed... I've juiced literally hundreds of pounds of citrus with it and it's still going strong! I didn't expect it to last, but I've had it over four years now and it's seen lots of margaritas and fresh squeezed orange juice. Would totally recommend!...

Black and Decker JM300 Juiceman Jr 2-Speed Juicer

This review is from: Black and Decker JM300 Juiceman Jr 2-Speed JuicerThis little juicer is a great intro into the juicing lifestyle. It is a centrifugal juicer meaning the vegetables you place into it are shredded by tiny teeth and the pulp is thrown against the outer wall of the screen and the juice is forced out by the spinning motion. What you get is a fair amount of juice for the vegetables you place into it. I have owned this juicer for over 5 years with little or no problems at all with it. I usually juice every day so that is saying a good deal for a machine that costs less than $100.I would give it 5 stars if it were not for the following things:1. It is noisy, I mean lock up the cat because when you fire it up it resembles a jet engine taking off.2. A pain to clean. It only has 1 moving part but due to the nature of the process food particles fling all over the inside of it.3. Bogs down with pulpy fruits. Some hard-core juicing people say that centrifugal juicers heat the juice up and this destroys nutrients. In my opinion even heated a small amount is still better than sucking down soda and pizza any day.Juice for your health!...This review is from: Black and Decker JM300 Juiceman Jr 2-Speed JuicerI have owned this juicer for just over 3 years. I use it almost daily. It has held up well. I am looking to replace it because I spazed out and broke the cover. I used epoxy to piece it back together and got a few more months out of it, but the epoxy has come loose. Time for a new one, which I hate because the one I have still runs fine. But, you can't make a juice without a cover. The only draw back to this machine was that the final product ended up with some pulp in it. Never really bothered my wife or I though. It just caused to juice to be a little thicker. My sister has a Jack Lalane juicer that renders a more refined final product, but it is much more difficult to clean. What I love about my Juiceman Jr. is how easy it is to clean. It is a simple design. Not too many pieces, no screws or special tools needed for disassembly. It comes apart and goes back together nicely. Nothing to figure out. The reason, I never juiced regularly before is because it is a chore, hard clean up. This little fellow was so easy to deal with, I was able to get into the habit of daily juicing. If my veggies are already cut up, I can make a juice and have the machine clean in 5 minutes. If I have to cut veggies it takes 10min. All of the components have held up well, but they are made of plastic (except for the stainless cutting area and mesh basket) so you can't sling them around and expect them to last. If you don't mind your juice being a little thicker, I highly recommend this model. For me, easy to clean vs. a little pulp in the juice, I pick easy clean every time....This review is from: Black and Decker JM300 Juiceman Jr 2-Speed JuicerI had used my Juiceman Jr juicer two times and was thrilled. The third time I was half through with my vegetables when I smelled a burning smell and it quit working. I let it cool and still it did not work. Taking it back and guess I'll try to locate another type....
