This review is from: Waring Health Juice ExtractorsSometimes you have to learn the hard way. First - this thing doesn't juice all that efficiently. Wanna find that out for real? Go buy a GOOD juicer, and use it. This thing starts looking like a massive waste of time and money the moment you try a better juicer.Next - think this is a good price? Think again. The lid on the pulp container is stupidly designed with an easily broken protrusion on the bottom right which acts as a safety - the juicer will not turn on unless the lid is on. Of course, when that protrusion breaks, it won't turn on then either. Replacements are $12 or so, plus shipping. Note that I got mine from an Amazon Store called "Small Appliance". Don't get me started. They suck beyond all human comprehension, but at least they called me a week after I'd already bought a better product. Hey: They may not be good, but they sure are slow! The replacements do not fit. So you get an RMA and ship the replacement back (your dime) and get another replacement...That does not fit. How the heck did this happen? Waring only has one part like this anywhere, ever, and it doesn't fit? So I get a lot of shipping charges to return the ill-fitting cover, and by now I have spent enough to buy a better product in the first place.TL;DR: Don't. Spend a little more. You'll be happier, it'll waste less, and it'll last longer....This review is from: Waring Health Juice ExtractorsI have owned a JEX328 since it was gifted to me in 2004. The juicer looks very nice and elegant with brushed stainless steel. Most of our other kitchen appliacnes are stainless steel and this goes well with them. The juicer itself does a great job on hard fruits and veges like carrots. I initially tried to use the leftover from the juicing in things like soups or cakes but the leftover from hard fruits was so dry, it was no use to me. THe juicer does well with fruits like apples and pears but the refuse is somewhat wet suggesting jiucing performance is good but not fantastic. Softer fruits such as oranges and grapes dont do too well. Oranges, particularly, dont get the best juice in this type of centifugal juicer because the white stuff on the outside of the oranges gets juiced too and changes the taste.Customer Service. I may not have had better customer serice ever in my life. After using the juicer for five years, something at the bottom of the refuse collector snapped (there is a tiny white tab that locks in place when correctly assembled. If that tab breaks, the juicer will not work). Initially I didn't know what caused the juicer to stop working and opened it up to see if there is fuse. After not finding it, I called Waring and spoke to a Teri in tech customer support. I was hoping to find out where the fuse is. Teri was very nice on the phone and told me there is no traditional fuse but to solve my problem, she will send me a new refuse collector free of charge (did not even charge me S&H). When the prodcut arrived, it did not fit perfectly so I called her back. Apparently the company changed their contract manufactuer a few years ago and I had an old one that had changed. She arranged for UPS to pick up the product she had previously sent me and get this - SHE SENT ME A WHOLE NEW JUICER, again for free. Are you kidding me?? Thats wild. I could not believe it. I know they are quite unlikely to do that often, but their attitude to solving the problem was fantastic. I thanked her and few days later received a whole new juicer that I am very happy with.Cleaning. Cleaning is quite easy and everything goes in the dishwasher. The mesh filter is the only thing that does not get washed too well in dishwasher.Improvement. If there is one thing I would improve, it would be the size of the feeding chute, shich is manageable but competitors have larger feeding chutes.Overall - Fantastic value. For what you have to pay for this, it does a fantastic job and looks great too. Of course, the customer service is bar none....
