(that's okay, they don't do much anyway. makes it easy to clean that area, anyway :P )2) even with the little rubber feet (which are shaped like suction cups on the bottom), the juicer still slips around on my counter while juicing. (juicing can get messy if you do a lot, and after a while, you've got juice on the counter, and then even with the rubber suction feet, juicer still slips around). sometimes i put it on my large cutting board to stop from slipping/rotating while juicing.alternatively, it might be nice if there were a way to select that you want the grinder motor to turn only in one direction or the other (instead of both, which it does randomly: this is a nice feature, but would be nice to turn it off, so you could bolster the handle up against something else (like microwave oven, etc.) so that juicer would not slip on counter. but if the motor turns in opposite direction every other time, you can't do this becuase juicer will slip and turn in the other direction.overall the best quality-to-price value ratio i've seen in an appliance in years. i thought when i bought it, "oh, heck, for the money i paid for it, if it breaks, i can just replace it wtih a new one," thinking something that cheap would break within a few months. it's been over a year, and still going strong.....This review is from: Toastmaster 1109 Citrus JuicerI've been using mine consistently for the past 2 years. As I don't like salads and find it pretty difficult to get raw vegetables in my diet, otherwise. It works great, very nice machine, well worth the money. The only thing I've found that didn't juice well all the time so far has been plums. I think, the softer the fruit, the more difficult its going to be to juice. I usually don't have problems with plums, though, I only had trouble one time. ...As far as the taste. Well, add an apple or two and you can consume even the bitterest of greens (kale, collard greens, ect). Which, of course, are the best ones for you. This was, personally, my main reason for buying it.Anyways, if you're looking for an inexpensive, good quality, masticating style juicer for juicing vegetables...Then I would say; Look no further, this is your machine. The only other thing Ive tried with it was making an almond butter. And it does this quite well, as well. Although, you do have to add a decent amount of oil. I used walnut oil and it turned out pretty nice. Add a bit of honey to sweeten and you're set. A lot fresher than buying the jarred stuff. Plus, it gives you the option of soaking the nuts, which is said to make digestion easier. I've seen nut butters that use soaked nuts sell at VERY high prices in health food stores. So, if you're into soaking/sprouting foods, this would be a huge money saver. My only complaint would be that its a bit time consuming. I'd say it takes at least a half an hour to wash/cut produce, juice, and clean parts. ...Perhaps even a bit longer, depending on how quick you are. The parts are very easy to clean, though, and assembly is a snap after you get used to how it all connects. This review is from: Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow WhiteIt juices virtually everything perfectly! Peel the rind off a lemon and it juices better than a citrus juicer! It does greens VERY well, almost all pulps come out dry without so much as a drop to wring out from it, and it looks gorgeous in a glass.Here's how it works: you feed your produce into the feed chute and it's processed by a black acrylic auger against a metal sieve. Basically this means the auger is chewing the produce and pressing the resulting pulp and juice against a metal screen with tiny holes. The pulp is pressed through a pulp chute while the juice is filtered through the holes and into the juice chute. It's absolutely amazing. Honestly, I really wanted one of the Omega nutrition center juicers, but just watching the videos of making carrot juice on those things was painful! You have to JAM it into the feed chute to get the carrots to go in. The amazing thing about this juicer is that the auger PULLS carrots in with no effort whatsoever from the user. One thing to note though, is that you need to let it do its own work. If you DO try pushing it in, it locks up the auger. On softer produce like leafy greens and fruits, it has no problem with jamming stuff in. It may not be as fast as a centrifugal juicer, but it's at least twice as fast, and a QUARTER of the work that goes into jamming them into the Omega nutrition center.So far I have juiced the following without any problems:CeleryCarrots - SHOULD BE PEELED. Skins are extremely bitter!RomaineKale - surprisingly mild flavor even in its raw stateCucumbersApple - must be a firm fleshed apple like Fujis, Galas or Granny SmithsOrange - I will NEVER drink "fresh squeezed" carton juices ever again.LemonGrapes (didn't expect this one to come out as dry as it did--wow!)As for citrus, be sure to peel the rind off first otherwise you'll be left with very bitter juice which contains natural though indigestible oils. Note that certain pulpy fruits like grapes and berries will have somewhat wet pulp, but it can be put through the juicer again and the auger will squeeze even more juice out of it! The great thing about this juicer is if you want to make a different juice without mixing the flavors, you can run 2-3 cups of water through the machine and you'll be ready to juice your next batch of fruits and/or vegetables. So if Sally wants carrot but Brian wants apple and neither wants to taint their juice with the other's juice, you don't have to disassemble the whole thing to avoid doing so.Green juicers should already know this, but if you're new, this is how you get through several batches without having to wash it over and over: alternate produce! This actually goes for fruit as well, but it's imperative that you alternate with greens. Start with some leafy greens, then follow this with 1/2 of a cucumber--which actually doubles as a plunger so you can just use that cucumber half to push those leaves in. If you want to do straight kale, you may have to open the juicer, remove the auger and pull some of the fibers out of the base--which won't be a problem if you mix your greens. Keep in mind I've never had to do this as I've never had any lock-ups while juicing--most likely because I've always alternated produce.Speaking of cleaning--virtually painless. Just separate the removable parts from the base whole and put it in the sink. Run hot water through the top and rinse it off (with soapy water if you desire), then remove the top and rinse the bottom of the feed chute plate. Next rinse your auger, and if you juiced something fibrous, run the chisel part of the included cleaning brush through the indented ring where it may have collected. This takes maybe 5 seconds. Next, rinse and scrub the screen. This is a little more difficult/time consuming. I don't actually like using the included brush for this. I use a non-stick safe scouring pad to wipe it gently twice and usually all the pulp stuck in the holes are gone. The clear plastic base is easy to clean; pull the attached silicone plug out and clear out the pulp chute with a spray of water and rinse the rest out and you're done. Cleaning takes 3-5 minutes depending on what you juiced. Quick tip for removing carrot stains: use a towel with a couple drops of vegetable oil on it and the stains wipe right off.The main things that attracted me to this juicer that it's able to process almonds for a very easy almond milk. Just soak 1 cup of almonds overnight and the next morning put it through the juicer with 3 cups of water and you've got a very healthy and tasty almond milk which goes phenomenally well with cereal. I've tried blanching the almonds and removing the skin first but it does not make a big difference. Using raw almonds does result in a cleaner fresher tasting almond milk. It does do soymilk as well, but I would recommend doing blending it instead as processing the soymilk (which is neccessary) over the stove is better done with the pulverized soybeans in the pot as it wrings more flavor than juicing them would. Either way, filtering with a strainer or nut milk bag is necessary. I usually follow this immediately with some juicing so I don't have to wash it twice.Edit: Three months and still going strong! First of all it's very easy to assemble, disassemble and wash. I've had two other "under $50" juicers and have had trouble getting the stainless steel baskets in and out and remembering what order to assemble it - with this one it was a breeze. Carrots are one of the harder textured food to juice. This machine was so quick and powerful I couldn't believe it, it took seconds!!!! I can't attest to whether it will continue to work, but for function and ease of use you can't beat it. The machine: It doesn't feel cheap. It seems to be built well enough. The juice containers are a bit small and awkward to get out without disassembling the unit, but not a big deal. As someone mentioned above there is some spillage when you remove the juice container.The opening to insert the fruits and veggies is pretty small, which is unfortunate because when you insert small pieces they are often fired right into the pulp container. This is unfortunate as we were hoping this twin gear juicer would be a good alternative to our other juicers that press the grass and generate lots of heat.We are still using the juicer with the burst strainer, however we changed the outer attachment to the Vegetable Screen - which has a built in screen to strain the pulp, but ultimately we will be replacing this one with the all steel constructed Nutrifaster Juicer from Australia (which is twice the price, but alas has been running in our juice bars for 2 years non stop without a single breakage or malfunction)....

It separates the juice from the pulp very well and I can not taste any pulp in the finished juice. I use the miller to make soy bean milk and rice flour some times. The motor runs smoothly and not too loud at all. I've had this for over a year and it still runs great. The only complaint is that it is not that quick to clean if you don't have the dish washer machine. It takes me about 3 minutes to clean each time I use this (scrubbing the pulp out of the filter mesh is the only part that takes long, the other components are easy to deal with)....

I only have those huge juicebar types vs. the little shredder 99$ ones to compare it too, and it blows them both away. A juicebar type omega would be nice if I ... owned a juice bar. But I'm just juicing for two at the most and this little 8 hp baby does the trick. The automatic shut off is a great feature for someone who likes to burn appliances up trying to 'do frozen' because I'm impatient, but I've only managed to kill this one once, with too much frozen corn- I was making Thai fish cakes. It does not shred to juice, it twists to squeeze out the precious fluid and the hopper lets you control how much 'pulp' aka fiber you want in your juice. I love the engine purr and the squeak of kale as it's pushed through, I just wish I had a black or red one! haha This is a good price for a well warranted product, a great design, easy to clean up (though I don't know about a minute flat or whatever), I usually just rinse the pieces as I take it apart before I even drink my juice.I primarily use it for juicing vegetables, and while it's tough I still cut my carrots into the size I would give a kid for veggie sticks, broccoli, beets too, the harder veggies need to be sliced up a bit, but i stuff celery whole down the chute, chunks of cabbage, ginger, kale... I will be making nut butter with it, and sausage if I can cope with the skin *shudder*I love to use the pulp in veggie burgers, extra fiber in meatloaf, carrot cake, makes awesome compost and you can even throw some nuts on top of the dry pulp (run it through twice, sure!), dates, olive oil and have a salad later. TEN STARS Pasta, pate, sorbets, spice grinding, and I hear they have a new nozzle for making oil!! I'm getting one...The only thing that comes close to a hassle is the juicing screen (which does not spin, it's a little stationary cone inside the plastic nozzle that you can trade out for a solid cone for pate, etc). I figured out quickly though that using the little brush (toothbrushs work well when the bristles finally wore down) on the INSIDE of the screen first, then going around the outside of the screen in circular motions is most effective, under a little running water. Everything else if you don't clean it right away (which would be silly) or are running meat through it, can be put in the dishwasher!I have an older model that looks exactly the same, 10 yr instead of 15 warranty, and they say they've improved some of the pieces.. I started juicing leafy greens with ginger, celery and carrots which I liked but I have just created a new recipe that I have fallen in love with using carrots, oranges, apple and beets. Very yummy! Every product I have owned from Sharper Image in the past was just VERY cheaply made (ie- light plastic parts) and they always break!! But ever since we started making fresh juice, I love fresh fruit juice now. One red delicious apple and 2 carrots would make plenty for both of us. After about a week, I got greedy and wanted to pack more stuff in our already great juice so I added Black Currant extract powder and Buffered Vit C powder. I don't mind the cleaning part at all. The stainless steel screen is designed to filter out pulp and deliver a pulp-free juice, but enough pulp comes through into the bowl so that the spout valve clogs and the juice stops flowing into your glass. The juice collects in the bowl, which itself doesn't have a pouring spout, so it's difficult to pour the collected juice into your glass. We like some pulp in our juice, but there's no adjustment on this juicer to allow for this. I modified the screen, probably invalidating any warranty, so we get some pulp, but it's still awkward to deal with because the bowl doesn't have a pour spout.The box says "dishwasher safe" but the manual says "hand wash" - I believe the manual. I love it so much I even got fruit out of the freezer that I wanted to process but never had the time to last year. I can't wait for the grapes to be ready. Very easy to use and the juice comes out clear and without any effort. Just fill the bottom pot with water, add the fruit to the basket, turn it on and wait an hour. For anyone who wants to make their own juice, jelly, jam, wine or fruit leather, this is a must-have piece of equipment....

He shuns centrifugal juicers that use air in the extraction process, which he says leads to oxidation. Instead, the Green Star has a "close-case-crush-press" system, which crushes your food between two counter-rotating steel gears. You're left with juice that zings. But nice has a price. My biggest let-down with this juicer was finding out that it doesn't go through veggies as fast as my garbage disposal. At its fastest, the Green Star gives you a thin stream of juice that takes quite a while to fill the collection bowl. The other let-down in versatility. It does all right with flaccid, stringy, leafy foods like parsley and cilantro. But if there's any firmness to them--anything from cucumbers to celery to lemons--the juicer needs help. So before using the juicer I do a lot of pre-chopping.The clean-up is bearable. After making juice, there are about seven parts that disassemble easily. You don't need to reach into crevices in the main unit. All the parts clean easily but one small screen, which needs some serious scrubbing. The specialty brush supplied with the juicer helps out. Although this is my first juicer, I'm sure there are faster models out there. But I'm health-conscious too, and the twin gear system seems to leave a small "oxygen footprint." Plus my body craves the juice!...

Our family is very health conscience and wanted a juicer that would make our favorite juices, be easy to clean and last a couple days before going bad, that is if we don't drink it all that same day.I researched many different juicers including the Green Star and the Green Power Gold and learned that these models where a much older design from the mid 90's which has not been updated and had a few drawbacks. The Green Power 1304 is the latest design and I am telling you this because I was initially completely confused as Tribest tried to tell me that the Green Star and Green Power Gold where the latest and best models available which was completely untrue. I contacted Kitchen's Best customer service and kept the kind lady on the phone with all of my silly questions for well over half an hour. I really appreciated the time that she spent with me. I really do not like to be "sold" over the phone and I clearly felt that she just wanted to help me find the right juicer. She e-mailed me the Green Power history chart which clearly showed the evolution of the Green Power/Green Star Juicers which was very helpful.Our family totally loves the juicer! The kids enjoy having fun creating different juices and clean up is fairly easy if you clean it right away. I highly recommend the juicer and the company's customer service is always fantastic. I have now purchased multiple times from this company and it has been a great experience. If you are looking to make soy, nut and rice milk I also recommend the NEW 2009 Soymilk Maker - SoyQuick Premier Milk Maker 930P My best purchase this year....
