First of all it's very easy to assemble, disassemble and wash. I've had two other "under $50" juicers and have had trouble getting the stainless steel baskets in and out and remembering what order to assemble it - with this one it was a breeze. Carrots are one of the harder textured food to juice. This machine was so quick and powerful I couldn't believe it, it took seconds!!!! I can't attest to whether it will continue to work, but for function and ease of use you can't beat it. It also does a good job of extracting all the juice out - the pulp was very dry.Would recommend it if it were five times the price - I've never seen a juicer so inexpensive. This is the machine to buy if you've considered juicing, but were hesitant to invest the money. Also, makes a great additional juicer....This review is from: Better Chef IM550V JuicerAlthough this is my first juicer, I researched quite a few models--I bought this rather inexpensive model as I wasn't sure if I would get into the habit of juicing. The machine: It doesn't feel cheap. It seems to be built well enough. The juice containers are a bit small and awkward to get out without disassembling the unit, but not a big deal. As someone mentioned above there is some spillage when you remove the juice container.The opening to insert the fruits and veggies is pretty small, which is unfortunate because when you insert small pieces they are often fired right into the pulp container. It's best to cut the fruits and veggies into longer thin pieces to get the most out of this machine.It's pretty loud, so if that bothers you I would look for a quieter model.The juice: This machine really shines when juicing hard fruits and vegetables---carrots, apples, pineapple, etc. The pulp is pretty dry for apples and carrots especially.I wouldn't even bother with citrus fruits as the machine runs too fast and fires most of the flesh (and thus the juice!) into the pulp container. You have to push down really slowly if you want to get even a modest amount of juice from citrus fruits. It would really benefit having a lower speed (when I get a better model I'm going to make sure it has 2 speeds).---I am considering getting a proper citrus juicer to supplement this one (They're only $20 or so.Clean up: I don't have much reference for cleanup since this is my first juicer, but it's simple enough.I found that I really enjoy both the process of juicing and the juice itself, so ultimately I will upgrade to a better model. As a first time juicer this works quite well, but as I mentioned above you'll probably need to get a citrus juicer to supplement this machine. This juicer is perfect, starting with the price. It's smaller than all the other ones I have seen, easy to assemble and disassemble, easy to clean and to juice. All I do is cut everything is small pieces and the machine does all the work. It's amazing. It juices everything fast and the pulp comes out fairly dry. I disagree with the review that says the pulp has a lot of juice. Cleaning is easy. I just use warm water, don't even scrub (except the blade, which needs to be cleaned with a brush, but with running water, it takes me less than a minute to clean it).I have been drinking fruit and vegetable juices 2 or 3 times a day. I mix all kinds of stuff and the machine juices it all. Yesterday I made spinach-carrot-apple-grape-cucumber juice and it tasted SO good! And I don't even add water, just put some ice and it's delicious and super nutritious.Don't fool yourself with the price. This juicer doesn't take too much room, works great AND it's cheap! Let it guide you to a healthier life! You won't regret buying it....
